The Lotte Hotel is very centrally located in the middle of Seoul's main business district and is steps away from the Seoul City Hall. I stayed here with a group of classmates in March as part of a school trip. I cannot comment on the value or prices as our stay was free.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful, immaculate main lobby. Representatives of the hotel met our group in the tour lobby and had our room cards ready for us so check-in was easy. I use a wheelchair and was originally assigned to the hotel's only adapted room for wheelchair users housed in the New Wing. The room, while nice, had terrible design flaws in the bathroom and in my opinion is unusable for both guests with disabilities and those who are able-bodied. To reach the shower, one must ascend a two-foot high step and then somehow move to the back of a large floor space. Most normal height people would not be able to stand up in this area as the ceiling is no higher than in the rest of the bathroom. Definite design fail. It is for this reason I would not recommend the Lotte for anyone with a significant physical disability, but if you can step and walk a little bit and get by without grab bars there are other rooms that are accessible with a wheelchair and work better. I had seen pictures of the room prior to my arrival and indicated to the sales manager that the bathroom may pose an issue so he had already made alternate backup arrangements for me so switching rooms was not an issue (service here and in Korea in general is excellent, they really aim to please).
I ended up in a room on the Ladies Floor in the Main Building which suited my needs much better and was absolutely gorgeous. The Ladies Floor is reserved solely for female guests and access to the floor is restricted to guests who are staying there. The floor has a lovely lounge with many fashion books and flowers, but I didn't have time to really sit there, just walked through once. The room itself was fairly large and well-decorated, with two of the comfiest beds in the world, couches and a large LCD TV. Additionally, lots of girl friendly amenities were provided which was much appreciated -- hair straightener, curling iron, etc. General amenities were also excellent, couldn't believe the hotel provided cell phones, they really did think of everything! The bathroom was quite large and had a separate tub and shower. I was able to fit my wheelchair in there just fine, but had some difficulty getting over the threshold, nothing that wasn't doable though. I was able to wheel right up to the bathroom and the toilet paper holder was conveniently positioned for me to hang on to for balance but really shouldn't be used in lieu of a grab bar if you're going to put a lot of weight on it. The shower, while it didn't have grab bars, was usable with the door open (it's a glass enclosure so all 4 walls including the door are glass) as the hotel was able to provide a standard plastic shower chair. The shower was handheld so that was helpful and the holder was able to provide some use as a grab support but only for balance, it also helps to have handle bars on your wheelchair. If only the hotel added some grab bars in this room or similar layouts it would be completely accessible. The sinks in Korean hotels are pretty low so easy enough to access from a wheelchair. We also had a great view of the mountains and the President's Blue House from our window.
We also received free vouchers for the breakfast buffets and that was pretty much the highlight of my trip. The buffet has an incredible number of choices - everything from western style eggs and breakfast meats, to yogurts, local noodle soups and dishes, pates, cheeses, fresh fruit, cereal, and that's not even half of it, all out of this world delicious. The buffet restaurant is totally wheelchair friendly and the servers and staff were extremely helpful, pulling out chairs when they saw me coming, making sure I could reach everything etc. To get to the buffet is a little hazardous as the ramps in the basement leading from the elevators are a bit too steep by US standards and have no siding but I was always with a friend so with help they are not a big obstacle.
Tons of taxis outside at all times of day or night and doormen always helpful with getting in and out in front of the hotel. The internal department store connection is great and I loved shopping there and sampling the food court delicacies.
