I stayed here for six nights in November. I have been to Seoul many times and have stayed mostly downtown (City Hall, Myeongdong, etc...). This was my first stay there in a more secluded hotel (i.e., Shilla, Grand Hyatt). While it was a bit less inconvenient than having everything at my doorstep and the added daily coming and going involves more buses and trains (or taxis) to and from the Hyatt's hilltop location, I have to say that it is so quiet and peaceful at night. I slept very well each night. Those who have been to Seoul know that it is a 24x7 city...there are few quiet places like this moutaintop in the inner city. Many reviewers say to get the city/river view. You can see that from the lounge or one of the many bars and restaurants in the hotel during your visit or stay. I say get the Namsan Mountain view for your room. It was beautiful at night and also in the morning and if you go in the fall the foliage is spectacular. A few small complaints...#1, wifi in a hotel of this quality and price range should be free...#2, whatever happened to newspapers delivered daily to your door? they cost next to nothing, after all...and #3, the hallways, while clean and well kept up, have this strange thing going on with way too many mirrors, almost like a funhouse effect. It is too much and distracts from the overall regal and calm atmosphere of this hotel. I will attach a photo the Namsan view from my 10th floor room.
