“Great fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

Exceeded all expectations - I thought this was an artificial hype, but now I understand why the show has been running for 10+ years with no end in sight: it is fun, interactive (you may be pulled on stage)... and you do not need to speak any Korean to enjoy!

“Hillarious Evening Spectacle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

If you are looking for some evening activities while in Seoul this is definitely one of them. It's Seoul's version of broadway with a show that puts Stomp, Iron Chef, and a whole comedic routine that really engages the audience. Tickets will cost you about $30-50 depending where you sit, but anywhere in the theatre is fine.

Tip: if you are shy to get on stage try to sit in the middle, but part of the show is to get a few folks on the stage and most have a great time.

Myeondong is probably the best theatre to go as it is close to all the tourist areas. There are 2 other choices across Seoul, but this one is probably the most tourist heavy.

Book online and get a membership to get an additional 10% discount. Buying at door is possible but very few selections if any during the tourist season.

“Good family show”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

This is my second time seeing the Nanta show (first time in Myeongdong) and I enjoyed the show once again. The actors are quite skilled at chopping and slicing and dicing, as well as dancing and entertaining! It's not difficult for foreigners to comprehend as there is little Korean language in the show and most of the entertainment is in the sights and sounds of the performance. Very good for families but also a little to spice things up for the adults too!

I only give this 4 stars because my 22-year-old sister and her friend were expecting a little something more from the performance. Also, I think the Myeongdong theater is a more intimate and better place to watch the show than Hongdae.

“A Memorable and Unique Performance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

I watched the Cooking Nanta at the Hongdae theatre and although I had high expectations (especially after reading the reviews), I still left impressed, entertained, and pleased. The performance is hilarious, action-packed, universally understood, and just so much fun. It's a hodge podge of sketches, acrobatic routines, stomp-like musical numbers, and some slapstick humour but all tied in seamlessly in one performance that truly is unique to South Korea.

“Art, humour, entertainment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013

When my Korean friend told me, go to this "cooking show" I had no idea what this was. But oh man, this was amazing. There's hardly any language used in the show, except a few lines in English and maybe a word or two of Korean, mostly just music/body language. This cooking-inspired show features some amazingly talented performers who are full of energy, and perform hilarious and amazing tricks with cooking and musical equipment, revolving around a loosely defined plot. Bring your kids along, they will love it. I pity the reviewer who thinks there was no plot- this is not a Westend musical but every bit worth your money and time. Tickets aren't that expensive but sell out really quickly so ask your hotel to book it for you in time. Honestly, for me this was a show that really made me wish folks back home could see it as well. Do not miss if you have a couple of extra hours to spare in the evening in Seoul!
