We spent a night at the Sophia Guest House last July at the recommendation of a friend and it was a pleasant stay. The guest house is a traditional Korean hanok house which has rooms surrounding a central courtyard/hang out area. True to traditional Korean style, there are no beds but instead you sleep on a mat. Bathrooms are also shared.
The best part about the Sophia Guest House is the location. It is located in the Bukchon Hanok Village which is an absolutely charming neighborhood consisting of ancient Korean houses which were restored and converted into cafes, art galleries, and B&Bs. There are lots of charming eateries and cafes around which is great and it is within walking distance of Gyeongbok ( the Royal Palace ).
This place is a great option for budget travelers. For two people, we paid 50,000 won = 46 usd. Access from the airport was also inexpensive - 14,000 won = 13 usd / person. For airport access, just take the airport bus #6011 to Anguk station, and then walk about 15 minutes.
Overall, if you're looking for a no frills but charming traditional Korean B&B that is close to sightseeing and inexpensive, the Sophia Guest House is a good choice.
