“Value for Money Hotel in Gangnam area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

Although the hotel is located off the main road, it is just a short walk from Yeoksam Station (Exit 8). The hotel is situated along Teheran-ro 33-gil (off Teheran-ro, the main road).

It is value for money with clean room and free Wifi. The restaurant across the hotel serves very good babecue pork ribs (KRW 10000 per serving, minimum two servings per order) and beef stew (KRW 6000) complete with the standard Korean side dishes and rice.

There are also the Paris Baguette and convenient store near the hotel.

Around the vicinity are also many restaurants (eg. Japanese, Korea (of course), Vietnamese, etc).

Room Tip: There is no non-smoking room in this hotel. Prior to your check-in, please request hotel to spray th...

We stayed here over Easter.

Easy to find and get to from Airport Limo stop at Renaissance Hotel. Tria is in a safe area (contrary to some reviews) full of bars and restaurants catering for the Gangnam Office Crowd. No sleaze apart form some massage joint, but looked pretty harmless to me. Hotel itself is small but reasonably well kept. Suites have a big circular bath tub and small seating area. Cleanliness was average, rooms had with some traffic noise from the street. Room did smell of smoke but we brought our own scent diffuser to clear the smell after reading other’s reviews. I had no issues with the hotel staff and English. Just speak a bit slower and have some patience!

Not a traditional love hotel from my observation (rates too expensive for starters) but I am sure some of the business people will stay over for that reason. Location was ok for Gangnam and Sinsadong (3 subway stops away) but we did find it far to travel to the other side of the city for all the main tourist/shopping spots. 1st timers should be aware that Seoul is a BIG city and it takes a while to get anywhere, something we did not factor in our visit. All in all it was good value for money.

Taxis after midnight will switch their meters off and charge a rip off price. Common practice according to my Korean friends. They will target tourists so don’t be stranded on the otherside of town late, otherwise be prepared to pay!

If you need to stay around Gangnam, near Coex etc, and don't want to be stung by the extortion from the intercontinental or renaissance then stay at the Tria. Millions of restaurants close by, 5 mins from the subway, and a really funky place. Best hotel shower ever, awesome bed, modern, clean, cool, big flat screen, free wifi. Thanks, that'll do me fine for 100 bucks a night!

We stay a couple of nights in this hotel located at Gangnam as we had our wedding photoshoot at some nearby studio. This hotel is one of the cheapest around you can find in this area. It is easily accessible via airport bus: alight at Renaissance hotel and walk through the back alley for shortcut.

Room: We booked the Royal Deluxe Double and the room is really spacious! The bathroom is already about the size of Skypark I's room, comes with jacuzzi bath tub and a separated rain shower. We tried using the jacuzzi but the water came out really cold so we skipped that. Room has heated floor tiles which makes it really nice and comfy for cold weather. There is also a desktop located at corner of our room. This hotel is more suitable for couples as the bathroom has see through glass panel.

Location: Yeoksam metro station is located about 3-5mins walk away, however this area (gangnam) isn't really near many famous spots to visit, eg: Myeongdong, Dongdaemum, Insadong, Gyeongbokgong, Namsan Tower... these are located above the Hangang river of Seoul, we figured that we will changed hotel (to skypark myeongdong) for the rest of our trip in Seoul for convenience. We would love to stay a few more nights if not for its location.

There are quite a lot of eateries along the streets of hotel and I realized that dining here actually cost cheaper as compared to Myeongdong! There are also bars around and many other reviewers has mention about it - sometimes you can spot pimps along the streets handing out sleazy flyers. We have no issue about that as long as they do not disturb ladies or tourists.

Service: Staffs speaks good English and is polite. We reached the hotel at 12.00nn and we were really exhausted and tired due to the flight's poor ventilation. We were told that room is only ready at 2pm. We took a walk around and went for lunch, came back at 1pm to try our luck again and luckily our room was ready by then. Upon check out, the friendly staffs also helped us to call a cab and tell the driver about our next location.

Overall, we really love the modern and spacious room! Do consider this hotel if you do not mind travelling a few more stops by metro to visit the attractions.

Room Tip: As all of their rooms is smoking room, for non smokers, do request for their staffs to spray somethi...

The hotel is Centrally located in the heart of Gangnam and very close proximity from a few great restaurants. The rooms are modern but very small. I actually think that the bathrooms are almost as big as the rooms themselves. The toilet was definitely very sophisticated in comparison to any other toilets I have seen around the world. It has a remote control that sprays water, hair dries you up and other functions that I did not dare to try! All in all it is a good hotel. It is a 10 minute walk to the closest bus stop, which is almost 50-70 minutes away from Incheon airport depending on time of day and traffic. The bus ride to the airport is approximately $15 US one way.

Spent five nights at the Tria. Excellent Gangnam location, walking distance to a subway stop. Front desk staff were business-like bordering on aloof, but efficient enough. My room was clean and the bed was very comfortable, though the bathroom was a tad on the small side. The only issue I had with the room is that it was nearly impossible to control the heat -- even with a thermostat in the room it would be nearly 80 degrees in the room by the time morning came.

The neighborhood was great - lots of restaurants and convenience stores located just nearby. Paid for breakfast when I booked the room and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food in the very small lobby cafe.

Room was good value for the money so if you're looking for a central location in Gangnam, this would be a great choice.

I thought this was a very cute boutique hotel. The rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was very good. They had a little tiny cafe in the hotel but we never did try anything from there. There was a Paris Baguette just up the street and a couple of restaurants around the hotel. We did try the traditional Korean BBQ across the street and it was very good and reasonable. The staff spoke okay English. We got in very late on our first night and had trouble telling the taxi driver where exactly the hotel was but we called the front desk and they so kindly explained to the driver where they were located. Not off the main street but one block from the main street. The gentleman who checked us in and helped us with the taxi driver was very, very nice and I wish I would had gotten his name. He must work the late shift because we got in at almost 1:00 a.m., very helpful and nice and spoke better English than the day staff. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because it was so far from central Seoul. Although the area was very nice and just a few blocks from shopping it was far. There is a subway station about a five to ten minute walk from there, that takes you everywhere. Keep in mind that the subway does stop running at midnight but taxis are very cheap. Overall a very good little boutique hotel, loved it.
