“Very good service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

As I experienced a hand CTS problem during my family holiday trip on Dec 31st very early morning, the frontdesk duty manager at the time Ms. Annie Kim had managed to help me going to a hospital in a windy cold -5°C to -8°C weather. She was very patient to accompany me going there. The hotel has shown that a full service is priority to the guests even in a such difficult or emergency situations. Once you experienced a perfect service then others don't matter anymore. So it will surely be my next place to stay in Seoul.

Great Location, attached to the time square Mall, allows you to visit the Mall and have a great meal, if you decide to eat out. The Executive Lounge was great , with very nice food and good service.
Rooms are large, convenient, Internet access is fast and free.
Breakfast was very good and offered variety of food , the best experience was getting a made to order omelette.
I will stay here again if I come back to Seoul. The property is about one Hour Drive from the Airport, so keep that in mind.

Positive: The rooms are very nice and new. Well-appointed with good furniture and electronics. Bathroom is clean and well-maintained. Basically spotless. The staff is very professional and informative. I received restaurant and transportation advice.
Neutral: Not close to central Seoul, but within an ~5 minute walk of three different subway lines.
Negative: Not in a touristy neighborhood, so just be prepared for language difficulties at the mall, restaurants, or convenience stores if you do not speak Korean.

I would recommend this place even though it is outside the main tourist district. It's a darned nice hotel, comparable to a full-service Marriott or even a JW Marriott in the US.

For about the same money stay a few miles away at the Conrad Hilton. I was surprised that in addition to my nightly rate of the $172 US I was booked for I found a $17 a night "Package Service Charge" whatever that is. When I am given a price for a room I expect that price plus taxes, and not some arbitrary service charge. With that charge it put this hotel above the price of many neighboring Hotels, including the true Marriott. Also the combo bath/shower leaks when taking a shower so you are forced to use all the towels to mop up the floor. The air conditioning won't lower the temp of the room below 22C, so I was hot despite numerous requests to lower it. Possibly others like warm rooms to sleep, but I do not. I also found laundry services outrageous, such as $4.50 to clean each pair of socks. Courtyard's in the US all have coin machines for incidentals, but not here. Save the frustrations and stay elsewhere.

It is easy to reach the hotel from the airport: bus will get you there in approx. 50 minutes and it will cost about EUR 7. Just remember to ask bus driver to stop at Times Square and show you the direction to the Marriott. The lobby is on the 5th floor and the concierge will show you the way.

The check-in was fast and I have got the room early on Saturday morning without any additional fee. That was very helpful after 9 hour flight, although the hotel tends to be occupied by local tourists on weekends. The room was good and spacious, condition of facilities in general is quite good. You will also have a kettle and a selection of tea/coffee/hot chocolate in the room. The quality of breakfast is above average & you will have nice view from the restaurant. The Internet connection fast and stable. In general, this is very good place to stay and I would safely recommend it.

One nice thing to have is a connection to the huge Times Square mall where you can get nearly everything. It becomes very useful if you travel on business and don't have much time for shopping. Local restaurants in the mall are good. Try to find small shop selling local hand made sweets (rice cakes) on the ground floor close to the huge supermarket. They are selling gorgeous looking sweets that you can bring home :)

-Stayed at the hotel only for 2 nights & liked the property.
- Hotel location not in the centre of the city hence travellers looking for a central location may need to review alternate options.
- A typical Marriott hotel with clean and spacious rooms.
- Interconnected with the Times Square mall hence one does not have to go far to shop(most of the major brands and outlets can be found at the times square) or eat.
-For Indian Vegetarians, there is a small restaurant(inside the times square mall-in the food court) which serves Indian vegetarian food(along with other Indian non vegetarian stuff), however the options for vegetarians are very few/limited.

Courtyard Hotels in the US are clean and predictable, but not memorable. This hotel is very different. It would compare well to any Hyatt property I have experienced. The layout is very modern and new. The lobby is spacious and open feeling. Great location!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the city.
