“Comfortable and Convenient”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

We stayed 3 nights in Kopala C; there are three buildings close together. Reception was fine and helpful. Rooms were a good size and comfortable, but rather dark; they need more lighting and lighter coloured walls. Bathrooms fine. Breakfast was good. Location is a little away from the centre of the city, but only a few minutes walk from the historic quarter.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a good view on the south side.

Actually, nothing about this place was average as it was either very bad or very good. If you sum it all up it becomes average. It started with a checkin problem as our arrival date was messed up by the hotel. The receptionist was not very helpful and we had to wait four hours to get into our room. Not even a coffee was offered to us during this time. The hotel is really nice though, has a good location and offers great views from the terrace of the restaurant. The restaurant offers excellent food and local wines but its totally disorganized. We had to remind the waiters many times of our order which was kind of annoying so we didn't go back the next day. there are plenty of other restaurants in that area which are also niceand not as expensive, offering a better service. Breakfast in the hotel was very nice but started surprisingly late.

Room Tip: Chose a room in building A close to restaurant, breakfast, front desk. New rooms with good views.

I stayed in the hotel only 1 night and wanted to stay more. Hotel is very clean, quiet and decoration is pretty new. The guy at reception was fluent in English and friendly...Room I stayed had an entrance, a very large bedroom with comfortable beds. A large balcony with an excellent view of the new city, a historic church and the Mtkvari river. Restaurant I had breakfast has the same view.I really enjoyed the homemade yogurt served during the breakfast...

The hotel located in a very good location, it has lovely view to the Europe square and the old Tbilisi. However, the service is very bad unfortunately, they are below the standard of being a hotel. The rooms did not get cleaned on daily basis and the reception does not speak English if you are in need of help, if they need money they speak good English! the architecture of the hotel is fabulous and I really felt that I am in Georgia. at the time there was some construction nearby the hotel. there was room vacancies however they let me stay nearby this noisy construction! I went to the reception requesting to change the room, then this issue was solved with no extra payment but I felt those people really made me somehow nervous. Since they are in this great location, I wish they improve their service and provide a better hotel management.

When my local Georgian friend booked me in here instead of one of the bigger named hotels in the city I was somewhat skeptical. I had asked him to book us into a centrally-located, affordable business hotel.

I stayed there for 4 days in December 2012 and was very happy with the hotel, it's restaurant, and staff. The location is great and has a wonderful view over the city.

The restaurant overlooks the river and city and hosted President Bush when he came.

When I go back to Tbilisi I will book in here again.

Nice hotel... I stayed in the "oldest part" of the hotel and had a room with a balcony together with a superb view to the nearby Metekhi church and Old town of Tbilisi. Really great!!! The room was fine, clean and big enough. The service was nice, the staff was polite and helpful. At least some of the rooms are accessible only by stairs (very narrow)... So, if you have heavy luggage, be prepared:-)) The food in the restaurant was good and the restaurant itself had an excellent view. The breakfast was not the best one - a small choice and the bread seemed to be several days old; coffee was Ok, but could be much better. The yogurt and home-made honey were really good!!! The hotel is located uphill, about 10 minutes walk from old town; the metro station is very close.

Room Tip: Ask for the room with balcony and view to the river in the "oldest part" of the hotel. Roo...

Stayed here for 2 nights when visiting Tbilisi on business. Friendly English speaking staff and a room the size of an apartment. Free WiFi, but only accessible in the sleeping room and not in the living room/desk.
The veranda an view from it was wonderful when relaxing after a busy day.
The Kopala should really look into its breakfast, this was nothing to write home about. Very poor selection making me question the total price of my stay. The roof top restaurant served excellent food for dinner but the service was slow.
Location is nice, with several sights within walking distance. The Metro is also only 2-300 meters away.
Should I return to Tbilisi, I will look into staying here again.

Room Tip: I stayed in room 121.
