I would call rest hostel more of a guesthouse, as it is a house owned and looked after by Gocha and Guranda.
I had two stays here so for two weeks and i loved it.
Well located, easy walk of the centre and sights, if you are going to Rustaveli avenue then buses or taxis are cheap.
I got a great feel and insight from my time there as i went on four tours, three of which were it was just me so i realy got the persenal experience!
rest hostel is clean, well run, good facilities and second to non local knowledge and information!
It was definatly home from home
three trips i did was with Gocha, who has fantastic knwledge and some great stories to share
We went to Dmanisi (oldest huminiod remains site outside of Africa)
Davit Gareji 6th century cave monsatries and to mtskheta (the old capital) these trips were very well priced, cheaper then most tour operators and fantastic value for money!
full of information and because it was mid/ late november it was pretty quiet every where, which is perfect for me.
the price to stay is great value too
I enjoyed my time and it was made all the more by fantasic hosts, home made wine / food and some great stories
There are lots of places to now stay in Tiblisi but you will hard pushed to gain more of an insight into the history/culture/furure then to stay here!
Ther are six beds and a mezzanine upsatirs, wifi tv and a kitchen with all you will need.
I will return the next chance i ge to go to Georgia
