“Charming hotel, friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2012

I stayed here twice on trips through Tbilisi and didn't have a single complaint.

Rooms are small but comfortable; the bathrooms look recently redone, spotless, good hot water pressure in the shower. Breakfast is better than at many hotels in this price range - fresh fruits and salads, and slices of khachapuri (Georgian cheese pie). The staff doesn't speak much English, but is eager to help.

Good location, too, on a quiet street in the old city but steps away from Freedom Square.

Stayed there for eight nights - can't say not a bad thing about it. Staff is very friendly, location the best of both posh Tbilisi - Sharden and all high street shops in a stone throw away and old 'local' Tbilisi.

Room Tip: all is good.

Small and clean hotel with good location. Church view was very good (ask a room with the view). They are very strict about check-in check-out times. I went to the hotel around 13.45 and had to wait until 14.00 because check-in time is at 14.00 (not convenient for people who come to city for 1-2 day business trip) and again at 11.50 they were calling me to remind that check-out is at 12.00. You have to pay in Lari and they charge tooth paste

Room Tip: Rooms facing church has good view.

Location of the City hotel is excellent for sightseeing Tbilisi. Everything is withing walking distance, also restaurants.

Reception staff is very friendly.

Room was good and clean and so was the bathroom.

Room was quiet at night. The hotel is located at a quiet side-street.

Breakfast was okay.

They provide airport transportation (pick up at the airport). This was very convenient for night arrival.

The hotel is no luxury but a good nice hotel and I would stay there again. Good value for money.

A small hotel just 2 minutes from Freedom Sq and off a nice street with cafes and good restaurants. The Staff is great and speak very good English. The breakfast is nicely presented and administered by a very friendly lady who would bring you hot bread as soon as you sit down. There are very few rooms, a couple per floor, and all serviced by a new elevator. Could not think of a better choice in Tbilisi.

Hotels in Tbilisi seem disproportionally expensive and many of them are located over the river or up on Vere; so the City was a real find. Good value. Great location, close to Old Town and Rustavelli Ave. Don't be afraid to turn right and go back up the street and explore. Very comfortable beds, smart decor and spotlessly clean. Breakfasts uninspiring though hot cheese bread (on first day) nice touch. Susanna on reception very helpful and knowledgeable.

Room Tip: Ask for a front facing room if view is important because the garden still a work in progress and bui...
