“Clean. Good for value. Convenient.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2011

We paid USD20 for a double room. We loved it because it was clean, neat and spotless. This is especially true for the bathroom. Although we stayed in the hotel on 2 occassions (1st day and last day of our trip), we especially loved our 2nd time. We were really looking forward to it after not getting enough sleep on the bus, and after all the bare minimum, dim rooms we had in other parts of Myanmar.

Take note: This hotel isn't that new, nor does it have a backpacker-ish character.
But what we absolutely love is the simple feeling it has to it, and the cleanliness of the hotel.
- Great beds!
- Rods and hangers to hang your clothes
- Great ventilation (Take your pick! Aircon, standing fan, wall ventilator)
- Great breakfast! (The usual bread & egg, but with YUMMY Myanmar style pancakes!)
- Clean toilets
- Working shower head
- Working temperature controls of shower

Although all these might seem trivial, but it's great to be able to enjoy these simple facilities after a weary and dirty day.

Location-wise, it's near Sule Paya, just a 5 min walk to Bogyoke Aung San market (just turn left!), walkable to Chinatown and Little India, and walkable to downtown as well. Wonderful location.

The only downside was probably the TV. It wasn't working well, and we did not have good reception. Maybe that can be worked on since they have a TV in a room.

On the 2nd time, we arrived early in the morning (around 5am) from Kalaw to the guesthouse and the room was ready for us! We were so glad to be able to lie on the bed to catch some sleep before the morning.

While waiting for your friends, you can also grab a milk tea at the neighboring tea shop. :)

We stayed there for 4 nights, because all other options where full. 20$ for rooms with no windows, minimum ventilation, when the generator works (and it's every night) the rooms that are near smell like hell, honestly. Not clean, the mattresses are 20 years old, you sink into them, so can't sleep well. Bed linen and towels, uffff, you don't want to see them. Rooms are cleaned only upon request and they do not wash the floor.
Stuff is friendly but not very much helpful, kind of lazy. You need to insist 2 or 3 times for things to be done. The only good thing is the breakfast (pancake, fruit, eggs, toasts and tea/coffee).
I would recommend Okinawa guesthouse for the same price you get much better quality of rooms, although breakfast isn't that good there.

Spent a total of 3 nights here and really liked it. Great budget place, and the staff will not hesitate to answer any questions you may have. The owner is a really sweet guy whom I spent a lot of time chatting with.

Beautyland Hotel is perfectly located, in downtown Yangoon (close to Sule Paya). The hotel picks you up at the airport for a very good price and can change money at a reasonable price (of course the rate is lower that in town but it is convenient for a small amount of money). Otherwise, rooms and service are average. Breakfast is included in the price.

Central location, just across the Yangon Central Train Station and 15min walk from Bogyoke Market & Sule Pagoda. All rooms have a ventilation fan, most appreciated as rooms have no windows. Water pressure in shower good. Nice hot shower! Room, linen and bathroom very clean. TV with one English news channel.

Just next to the hotel is the night market on Anawrahta Road. 999 Shan Noodles recommended by Lonely Planet is just 5mins walk way from the hotel on 34th St.

Slightly pricey (compared to Motherland II) at $20 per twin room (with A/C) includes breakfast but save money on taxi as you can walk anywhere from hotel. Hotel staff have been very friendly & helpful with information on how to travel around. Staff can speak decent English. You can also book domestic airline tickets from the reception. We checked at local travel agencies, hotel quoted prices are only $5 more than agency price. Not too bad considering the convenience if you are short of time.

4,000kyats for pick up from the airport upon arrival. Hotel subsidized part of taxi fare. 6,000kyats for taxi from hotel to airport.

This is the only hotel in our 2weeks stay in Myanmar that gave us the local Pancake together with our continental breakfast. It was delicious and the chef made sure to change the ingredients every day (some days with sesame seed, some days with banana etc). Lovely.

We had two dinners at the hotel restaurant. Price was reasonable and the local curries were well made - very delicious & different compared to Malaysian type curries. Meat curries average 1,800-2,000kyats. Vegetable dishes 1,500-2,000kyats. Rice 800kyats. I would recommend patrons to eat here for a taste of Burmese food. Kitchen = clean.

The hotel is in a great location, just 100-200m to Sakura Tower. I had a room on the 4rd floor at the back. It was quite a bit of a climb, but like others have said, the staff will carry your stuff. There are many different types of rooms available. I chose one with air cond, hot shower, tv, and window. It was small a small basic room, but ok for one person. It isn't worthwhile to open the window, as it faces the back of other buildings, and when the generator is running, it can be loud.

The staff is helpful and recommended me to go to the market for the best exchange rate rather than changing at the hotel. Breakfast is included. The restaurant serves limited types of food.
