“Perfect for budget travelers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

Green Hill hotel is perfect for budget travelers to Yangon. Yangon's a costly city in terms of hotel tariffs and Green Hill still provides the respite with reasonable tariffs. Rooms are of decent size but quality of amenities is average. Food is quite good and the location is just stone's throw from the Lakeside. Overall, an average hotel and quite perfect for business travelers.

It was reasonable price and fair service and facility, although Hotels in Yangon are too expensive for their level. Recommend for business travellers who don't want to spend much for accommodation. The breakfast menu were very good, mixture of Asian testes from many region.

We stayed in hotel for 3 nights in June 2013. The hotel is centrally located with fair standard overall. We occupied 3 rooms and overall, the rooms are clean. Is a stone throw away from the lake we well the magnificent anjd stunning Shwedagon Pagoda, a must see in Yangon. Overall, we find the prices in Myanmar for tourist are pretty steep. The breakfast was sumptuous and palatable with wide offerings as our company of 7 are not used to Burmese meals at large.

Four of us stayed at this hotel for one nights. We booked two rooms, deluxe and executive deluxe with Shwedagon Pagoda view. Rooms are clean, well decorated and spacious. The room with the pagoda view is great. The hotel is not far from a lake where there're a number of restaurants inside. The hotel is not close but not far from Shwedagon, about 20 minutes walk. It doesn't have swimming pool or a fitness. Staffs are honest and helpful. The restaurant price is reasonable and the quantity of food is usually large. It is in a somewhat diplomat/residential area and you cannot find a supermarket or a place to buy stuffs nearby. Taxi can be hired easily and most drivers are honest people.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 603 (executive deluxe with Shwedagon pagoda view) which is a great room. Room 422...

I've just returned from 3 nights at the Green Hill. The hotel is far newer than other hotels in Yangon and spotlessly clean.
I am fussy about cleanliness and both the restaurant, the corridors and the room & bathroom are very clean. Things work, the breakfast selection is large (no brown bread though) - and the staff from the front desk to the housekeeping are incredibly polite, professional and welcoming.
The Assistant Manager went out of his way to accommodate a non-smoking room. In a hotel that's pretty much always full, no easy task. He has trained overseas and brings with him an understanding of western ways - a very helpful man.
The only reason this is not 5 star rating is because the hotel is perhaps not convenient for everyone, but it was for me. There is a lake nearby for exercise.
Accommodation in Yangon is at a premium. It's not necessarily the name of a hotel that determines what you will receive - many of the 5 star hotels are more than 10 years old. Many of the hotels in all categories are overpriced, I thought this hotel very good value.
Book early and be clear if you need a non-smoking or smoking room. It will be hard to change. Some of the rooms in the lowest category don't have windows. If it's a one night stay, don't let that put you off, the rest of the hotel experience will make up for it. Do consider where you want to visit and where the hotel is located. Yangon has traffic jams and when it rains, everything takes far longer than you expect.
I had room service a few times - the gazpacho was good, and a surprise item on the menu. Overall the food is not bad at all.

Been at this hotel now several times and they have provided consistent service and I could recommend this hotel as a good 3-Star hotel with friendly staff, free Wifi in a good and quiet location. The rooms are adequately equipped, clean and I will certainly be back again. It never disappointed and I could recommend the Green Hill Hotel as a good middle-class hotel. The only recommendation that I would extend to the management is to change the mattresses and pillows as this is the only thing that I would complain about.

I just came back from my trip to Mynmar and had a chance to stay at the Green Hill Hotel. The room is spacious and clean with a flat screen TV (we paid around US$130 all inclusive). They have a very good breakfast with a variety of western, japanese, international and local cuisine. The staff is very helpful. You can easily walk to the Kandawji lake which is around 5 minutes and can get a taxi to places in Yangon for around 1,500 to 3,000 Kyats depending on the distance and your negotiation skills.
