The Zawgyi House caters to foreign tourists. Its proximity to the Scott Market makes it attractive to shoppers. The outdoor dining area provides an excellent view of the pedestrian traffic—merchants, laborers, Buddhist monks, foreigners contribute to the Yangon mosaic. Indoors on two floors, Zawgyi’s sells select handicrafts that cannot be easily found in the large market next door. Every table has a traditional marionette. Their best meals are Thai. The Tom Yum soup is authentically delicious. Strawberry juice is nice. The mixed grill is indeed mixed. The shrimp is good, chicken exquisite, beef tough, and ribs adequate. Will all the shop has to offer, it’s worth at least one visit.
