We had some local people take us out there on their own bus. They knew we wanted to see sharks and turtles and they knew this was once the place to go. They were so embarrassed themselves when they discovered how much the place had changed. They felt we had been ripped off as the owner charged us 1000vatu to enter, after their negotiations. We fed the sharks pawpaw but weren't overly happy with the enclosure and the state of the turtles either. The locals themselves were disappointed with how the animals were treated. We were the only ones there and the atmosphere was quite eerie with the surrounding buildings being so run down. We grabbed a few kayaks and paddled about the lagoon. Some kayaks had holes in them, others had broken paddles. It wouldn't be a place I'd visit again. It just felt like a ghost town.
