“Spacious well equipped apartments”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013 via mobile

Very obliging accommodating staff, especially Natalie and Felix. The rooms were spacious and very well appointed from a self catering point of view. Took us a while to come to grips with the concept of the "bus" in Vanuatu but essentially a minivan with a B plate drives past every 30 seconds which will take you where you want to go for a very reasonable fee. Made it easy to go wherever we wanted when we wanted - great.
Kids well catered for with an excellent playground and kayaks pool etc... Our son and daughter spent many a happy hour with a hand line fishing for small fish off the two jetties - magic.
The restaurant is undergoing a makeover and the new chef Tyrone did an excellent job, small menu but very accommodating and some tasty plates - Thanks Tyrone. Would happily go back.

We traveled as a family of six to Vanuatu and had a great time. We booked into the Lagoon Beach Resort Apartments as it is a great set up for the kids. On arrival we were greeted by staff and informed that we were to get a second apartment for free for the 10 days we were they, so thankyou very much, my teenagers got a room of their own. Easy access to everything as it is on a main road, has it own beach area into the lagoon and a swimming pool. Pool Bar / Restuarant is a little limited but is said to be renovated fairly soon. All in all had a great stay, just watch out for the crab holes they are everywhere on Vanuatu.

Room Tip: Any room they are all good.

Lovely clean, airy, appointed apartments (Like a townhouse with a tropical twist). Fantastic amenities - can borrow their bbq to cook your own, kayaks to paddle on the lagoon, there's a swimming pool near the bar/cafe onsite. Resort is small so not teaming with hundreds of people. Staff are fantastic, welcoming and obliging. We were personally farewelled by the owners when we left! My teenagers loved giving Felix a hard time, and playing the daily game of beach volleyball at dusk. Resort organises onsite events such as a melanesian feast, movies under the stars and other things. They are happy to help you organise a tour, or point you in the right direction if you want to do it yourself. We went with another family with teenagers of similar age to our two, stayed in adjacent apartments, and had a ball. Would stay there again.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment for 6 nights, 2 adults and 2 kids aged 2 & 4. We were never bored, and staff were very attentive.

We weren't there during school holidays so there was no kids club, but the kids had equipment to play/climb on, and the lagoon to explore. My eldest spent her days there investigating starfish and collecting hermit crabs. And when it was raining or they needed some quiet time, we borrowed DVDs from the office for them to watch. But we spent most days going out doing things, and only going back to the resort to relax, or have quiet days. So, there was more than enough there for us to do.

The resort is 5-10mins out of Port Vila, which means your close enough to duck in whenever you like, but out of the hustle and bustle.

We had the kids babysat twice, organised by the resort staff, by a different sitter each time, but both very good.

The apartment is very spacious, and clean and had a washing machine and dryer, which was very handy.

The kitchen was great, and I was able to cook a few meals for us when we'd had a big day adn didnt want to go out for dinner, or just wanted an easy lunch.

The pool is on the small side compared to what you might imagine for a tropical resort, but enough for us, and never crowded.

We spent some time paddling on the lagoon with free use of the canoes, which was a good way to get a 'lay of the land' around the resort.

Staff were all friendly and attentive.

The only downside, is that the restaurant didnt seem to be well equipped fro a big variety of food. The kids were happy with fish & chips, and the curry was goodd. The pizza & coffee weren't great. But the service was always with a smile and the staff were always happy to cater to our requests for the kids (like spiders by the pool - spoiled I know!)

So, food probably isn't one of their strengths, but the bar was well stocked and there are plenty of places to go out for meals if you want restaurant quality.

Everything else was great, and we got a VERY good price by contacting the resort directly, rather than booking through an agent or website.

Room Tip: Try calling the resort to book, rather than going through a website or travel agent. I generally f...

A friend and I and our 2 eight year old children stayed at the Lagoon Beach Apartments in mid January of this year for 5 nights before moving on to a resort which wasnt half as nice as these apartments. I really loved it here. Very laid back with large grounds for the kids to run around in, a swimming pool that was overlooked by the small bar/cafe area and a trampoline and play area ,all of which the kids made good use of. And then there is the lagoon which this property overlooks. One of the highlights for all of us were the kayaks available to guests that we all made good use of. It felt very safe, the water was wonderfully warm and the kids loved spending the afternoons paddling around while the adults enjoyed a gin/vodka and lime or two lazing on the deck chairs on the lagoon banks. The apartments themselves were spacious and comfortable and enough kitchen equipment to happily self cater. My friend injured her wrist while at the Cascade Falls and the owner of these apartments and Felix and Glen were very helpful with all the various arrangements that had to be made so thankyou to all of them. The apartments also quite close to town. You walk out of the apartment grounds and can easily hail one of the numerous buses passing into town. A small supermarket close by for essential supplies like icy poles and crisps!!And really great that you have free access to there sister resort on Erakor Island. All in all a really nice quiet relaxing stay.

We stayed for 9 days. We wanted to stay for 90
I don't even know where to start.
First three impressions
1. Just like the brochure
2. Laid back
3. Paradise
We were picked up from the airport by a longsuffering, pleasant tour guide. We had taken an extraordinarily long time to get through customs (kids, duty free shopping etc). He gave us a once over through Port Vila as he took us to the resort. We felt like we were on holidays already. The tour guide took us right up to our room.
We opened our room, and were enthralled by the odour - tropical flowers lay in the room.
At the resort, an entertaining fellow, Felix, greeted us with fresh juice mocktails, and an explanation of the resort, taxi's, people generally, food, swimming and more.
The apartment was over two floors - bedrooms and laundry / shower upstairs, and kitchen, dining, living and a huge outdoor area downstairs.
We snaffled the upstairs bedroom with the balcony - after all, we are the parents!
The resort has a small pool, with a beach hut restaurant / cafe. Staff were always attentive (amazing when you discover the meaning of Island time and encounter service elsewhere in Vanuatu).
The resort was not too far from the main part of town (about 10 minutes in a bus, which come along every 30 seconds!). Far enough to be 'exclusive', close enough to be almost in the thick of it.
The kitchen was well equipped, which meant that we could do our own cooking. This turned out to be quite a good thing. We went to a few eateries in town, but couldn't get food (due to a shortage following a cyclone) so being able to cook our own was great.
The question isn't 'would I go back', rather the question is 'when...'

Room Tip: The honeymoon rooms are closest to the water. 10 seconds walk. The other apartment blockes are stagg...

We stayed at Lagoon Beach in October 2012 - our 3rd trip to Vanuatu and to the Resort. We keep coming back to the same place as its a great little spot, good accommodation and fantastic staff! We're a family of 6 - four teenagers, and this time also brought Poppa along! We have previously had the 6 of us stay in 1 apartment, but as the children are now older and need more space we had decided to book 2 apartments this time so we could spread out a bit and also need 2 bathrooms with two teenage girls! My 88 year-old father-in-law joined us this time - his first trip to Vanuatu - and he hasn't stopped talking about it and the Resort yet. The Resort caters perfectly to families - a great playground for the younger ones, kayaking and fishing for the older ones and of course the daily volleyball game between staff and visitors. All are welcome regardless of age or ability - one of the reasons my 4 love it! The apartments are tropical, clean, well-serviced. The restaurant has a small menu but the chefs are very good and happy to oblige with special requests if able. I'd highly recommend Georges airport pickups and tours - either set tours or tailored to your needs. The Resort was also great for my father-in-law - flat grounds, beautiful gardens and a lovely little sandy beach. There is a corner store 2 minutes walk from the Resort and this has all your basic needs as well as fresh bread daily. The local bus stops on the road in front of the Apartments and you never have to wait more than a couple of minutes. I'd highly recommend this Resort to families especially, older people and also couples looking for a quiet resort.

Room Tip: All apartments are basically the same - we've stayed in a different block each time we visited...
