We stayed at Fatumaru Lodge for the first 4 days of our Vanuatu Honeymoon and had a lovely time. We stayed in 'Santo' Room, which was right on the water and had a lovely view. The room was fairly clean and had an air-conditioner which is pretty much essential for the time of year.
Pascal our host and Emily (guest services) were very helpful in organising activities for us and the tropical breakfast was excellent!
It is a ten minute walk to the centre of town but the footpaths are shocking and there are no streetlights - we walked in nearly every day but we are fit and carried a torch. An older lady that was staying said that she wouldn't/couldn't do it. It is easy to flag down a bus or taxi though!
Eating out in Vanuatu is not cheap, expect to pay about the same as in Australia so having a kitchenette was handy. Also the BBQ near the pool is free for guests to use.
The pool is lovely and since there is only a small number of rooms we had it to ourselves most of the time.
There is not really a beach there though and after seeing a sea snake from our balcony we decided not to swim in the bay. We did have fun mucking around on top of the water in the kayaks that are provided free of charge for guest use.
