“Cannot fault Iririki”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013 via mobile

We have stayed at Iririki twice and about to return for our third stay and we cannot fault the resort, the staff or the rooms.
I read some of the reviews here of Snorkler's Cove apartments and I don't understand how people could fault them!
We have always found everything beautiful when we have stayed there and the staff could not be friendlier or more helpful.
At breakfast there is always more food than you could want to eat and I can't eat eggs but my husband loves them and one of the favorite parts of an Iririki breakfast is the egg chef cooking them to your specifications.
Thank you for two wonderful stays, Iririki. We love your resort and love visiting Port Vila.
We will see you again next Friday.

We just got back from a fantastic stay at Iririki and would highly recommend it. We stayed in an Island View fare which was lovely and just what we were looking for, and it had a great view over the water (just one row of oceanfront fares between us and the water). I was a little worried before we got there as I had read some less-than-great reviews about the condition of some of the fares, but I needn't have worried. The fare was nicely furnished with ample space and a lovely big balcony. The facilities at the resort are great and there is plenty to keep you entertained between sun loungers. We particularly enjoyed the nightly happy hours and the fire dancers! The location is perfect, just 2 minutes across the water to the centre of Port Vila, but when you're on the island you could be miles away. The breakfast was scrumptious with a good variety, and Sam the egg-chef on hand to whip up eggs any style! The greatest thing about the resort, and Vanuatu in general, is the people. Everyone was happy and greeted us wherever we went and was more than happy to help with whatever we needed. All in all we were sad to leave and can't wait to get back again one day.

Room Tip: The Island View fares have a great view that I can't imagine is much different to the waterfront...

As this is our third trip to Port Vila,it is our first stay at Iririki. It is the perfect location which gives you more options for meals and enertainment. We stayed in a Garden Fare which wasn't new BUT was clean spacious with a very comfy queen bed.A large tiled bathroom with a clean working toilet and shower. Our air conditioner worked as did our fan and our flat screen TV.The bar fridge was large and very cold. The balcony is large with a great view of the gardens and trees with the blue water of the harbour peeking through. Our room was serviced daily by the lovely Rose. The only complaint about our room was the fly screen door wouldn't close properly and the balcony furniture has large chairs made of wood which are very, very uncomfortable.A platsic setting would be more adequate.
The resort itself has beautiful gardens, great pools and a modern gym.The blue waters around the island are crystal clear. If you look over the jetty you will see beautiful tropical reef fish swimming, even a family of clown fish. They have a brilliant fire dancing show on Saturday nights and happy hour is always fun.Breakfast has a great selection of hot and cold food, something for everyone.
We love Port Vila and are planning to return in November for 9 nights again at Iririki.Just waiting for their next specials to come out for the summer.
We travelled here for 11 nights fom the 18th May.My husband and I are late 40's early 50's who love our snorkelling and Vanuatu certainly has some of the best we have experienced in the world. So we will continue to come back for the snorkelling and the hospitality of these lovely people. We stayed in number 76.
Just remember Iririki is not a 5 star resort(nothing really is in Vanuatu)but you are not paying 5 star prices. It is 5 star for us,as this is what we enjoy. And remember you are in the South Pacific. This is not Bali or Thailand!!.
See you in November Iririki. If we could just have some comfy balcony chairs.Thanks.

I found our stay very enjoyable! Iririki is close to everything and getting to and from the main land was not a hassle at all. You receive a welcome drink on your check In and if you are there on a Monday night you receive a welcome drink during happy hour. I felt the service was very good. The only issue we had was room service. Our book did not have a menu and trying to get one was very difficult. As the phones were not working The man on reception was good in checking up to see if we had got a menu and been able to order. I ended up having to go down to order my meal and it was pouring rain.
Other than that I was very happy there.
Thank you for a great stay!!

This was our second time at the resort, we went there last March for 7 nights and loved it, we heard some horror stories but never experienced them. We gave Irrirli a great review.

This time was different it was like they did not want us back.

We booked 7 months prior and requested room 43, the same room as last time as per below we got no where near it

When we arrived they had double booked our room so placed us in an ocean view room as an apologie and told we would be there for the 7 nights without extra charge , that was fine no issues apart from the A/C did not work..... after our second night we were told that they had double booked that room and we had to move back to a room that we had originaly paid for... we were a little upset but ok not problem, they said we could shift then or wait till the folowing morning as they had a room ready, we stated we would wait until the following morning......the following morning we went to the reception and were informed that they had let that room out and we had to wait till later for another room... (this was getting out of control)...... we were told the room would be ready by 11am..... wifes birthday so she was having a massage..... well 1pm came no room still, we had booked a buggy ride so told them our bags were packed and let us know what room we were in when we got back.

We got back at 4pm covered in mud from the buggy rides (what a hoot) went to our NEW room for a shower to get the mud off...... NO TOWELS ........

Any way we got given a gift voucher for two at the michiners resturant due to the inconvenience, so off we go for our complimentary meal (what a nice thought), handed in our voucher and we had a lovely meal, however when we went to leave after the meal we were told we had to pay for the meal..... after some sorting they re found the voucher and we just paid for our drinks...... it continues
when our stay was up and we paid our final bill it seemed a bit high and on looking at the bill we observed they had charged us $100 FOR THE FREE MEAL that they had given us to opoligise for the stuffing around... lets just say we did not pay for it.

Other issues, we ordered a sea food basket which are very nice however got a sea food pizza, and the nemerous times you order drinks and end up with some thing different.

Dont get us wrong its a lovely place, our first trip was great and could not fault it however after this trip we decided that there are many other places in the Pacific to visit.

our last review is on page 30 the top one from March last year

Room Tip: Good luck choosing a room, we booked room 43 7 months prior and as above you can tell the problem

Absolutely brilliant staff, and the amenities are great, free catamarans, snorkeling and several pools :0

Over all the resort needs to be renovated, but it does offer great value for money, the cocktails are great and the food brilliant .

We did have a problem in this resort, but before I go into detail about that, I just want to be clear that we did enjoy our time in Iririki. Resort staff are fun and polite, things take time to come once ordered but it was always worth the wait as the food was fresh in every restaurant. The pools and grounds were clean and constantly being worked on. Breakfast was very fresh with a good variety and plentiful no matter what time you arrived.

We booked a pool view apartment which was very nice although not very private on the ground floor. After we had been taken to our room and only then were we informed that our block of apartments had no hot water and would have none until Monday. This was Saturday so I said this was not acceptable and they explained they had no other rooms available that night but would offer us a complimentary dinner for two and move us Sunday at 1.30 - 2.00. Teenage daughter was horrified at no shower for the night but we got on with it and had a nice dinner. I checked with reception next morning who said they had a plumber working on it and if not fixed they would move us at 1.30. We came back to our room then and rang reception. Rooms were ready - pack and they would move us. Done. Twenty minutes later rang reception and said we are still waiting. Room would not be ready for 30 minutes they advised. I explained that they had told us the room was ready and I was wasting my time sitting in my room. The next offer was to move to another room for the night and back to this room the next day.Trying very hard to keep it together at this stage I said I was not moving rooms every day and if they didn't have a room ready in 30 minutes they could find me another hotel. This did get the ball rolling and 30 minutes later we were upgraded to a top floor ocean balcony apartment which was a nice room but such a waste of time with the hours to sort this out. Apart from this had a great time and I mark service down only for this reason as all other staff except reception and guest services were pretty good. Housekeeping did not appear at all the next day as well

Room Tip: If booking a pool view apartment request an upper floor as the ground floor units have everyone walk...
