“Beautiful restaurant, food, view - tick, tick, tick!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2014

This is a beautiful restaurant. If you rate a restaurant, as I do, based on the following key attributes:

- food
- service
- location
- view

Then you will find Tamanu achieves an A+ on all counts.

It is very secluded and the dirt road into the resort isnt overly fun, but it is worth it in the end. The restaurant looks right out over the ocean, and its open air plan gives you the beach side dining expereince without the sand in your toes.

The menu is impressive with a heavy sway towards, you guessed it, seafood! We didnt hold back here either, lobster mornay, crab and avocado salad, wahu fillet and seafood crepes washed down with Tusker (him) and NZ Pinot Grigio (Me) was devine. Plus the bill coming in at around $120AUD certainly demonstrates good value for money considering what we ordered and the quality of the dishes.

Make this a lunch destination on your itinerary. If you want to amp up the romance factor charter a Helicopter to drop you off right on the beach. Which ever mode of transport you choose to arrive here doesnt matter.

You wont regret it.

“Natural, Idyllic and Incredible cuisine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2014

Thank-you for a fantastic lunch on Sunday.

The ambiance is hard to beat, blue sky, sunshine, white sand the gently crashing Tamanu surf. I enjoyed fish tacos (it is not the mexican taco experience!) followed by a Fresh Seafood Curry and of course washed down with a great bottle of Saint Clair Pinot Noir.

What is incredible is that this is a local team, the service was attentive without being claustrophobic and the food presentation was comparable to quality restaurants in Brisbane & Sydney.

This is truly a must do restaurant in Vanuatu and be warned, you must allocate a long lunch...for me it is a dining experience and finish your day with a peaceful wander along the beach.

Congratulations Virginia and team, you are doing a great job.

cheers!

Views are great. Food is to die for. Service was awesome. We will be back. We had steak which was cooked to perfection. Souffle was great and the cheese plate was huge and tasty

“The view remains awesome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2014

Called in for lunch on recent trip around the island to one of my favourite places - however was a little surprised to find the place quite empty on a Saturday. We were the only people in the restaurant and whilst the food was ok - it seemed to be missing the wow it did when we have stayed and eaten on previous occasions. The view however overlooking the ocean - well you will never get sick of that. The prices were about on par with what we had been paying however it certainly wasnt in the top ranking. When next visiting will probably go back - but more for the wonderful memories we have had in days gone by - certainly not based on this last meal we had.
