“Learning about Vanuatu whilst riding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

The cycle tour with Pascal was one of the two highlights of our week in Vanuatu. Whilst the cycling is gentle for regular cyclists it was a little challenging for a couple in our group who don't ride regularly. The bikes were of good quality and well-maintained, and suitable for the relatively rough tracks over which we cycled. Pascal is a wonderful source of information about his adopted country where he has made his life for the last 20 years. It was fascinating to gain an insight into the recent history and politics of Vanuatu, which for my wife and I, appeared to be a place of considerable contradictions. As a long distance touring cyclist, I can vouch for the way in which cycling brings you into contact with the countryside and local inhabitants wherever you happen to be cycling, whether it be Europe or Vanuatu. This is a great half-day activity which I would heartily recommend.

“Great experiences with truly great guides.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013 via mobile

We booked two of Pascal's Eco tours before travelling to Vanuatu, based on the excellent reports on Trip Advisor. Both tours, kayaking on the Rentabo River and the Lololima Cascades, exceeded our high expectations. Pascal collected us on time from the Iririki jetty as planned. The Eco tour truck with bench seating facing outwards allowed for great views of the town and countryside on the drive. Pascal and Henry always ensured our safety, taking exceptional care, as if we were family. We appreciated the small group experience, with 4 couples for kayaking on Tuesday morning, and 6 adults plus 4 children for the Thursday afternoon trip to Lololima Falls. We are so pleased we did both trips, as they were both very special locations, and I could not recommend one over the other. Although we are in our 60s, we thoroughly enjoyed the experiences, and were able to fully participate in the activities...with my husband even swinging on the Tarzan rope and jumping into the river, while I took photos from the riverbank. We felt very safe with Henry on the climb up beside the waterfall to the cave with stalactites, bats and swallows. He took great care to show us the safe footholds, and ensured our enjoyment of this special place. A very sincere thank you to these 2 wonderful guides, the best we have experienced in 40 years of travelling!

“Dont miss it - a must see”

My husband and I did the kayak tour - breathtaking scenery and I would recommend it to anyone who likes to get close to nature. Pascall is a great guide and shares his local knowledge freely - I will do another tour with Pascall when next back in town.

“Off the beaten track an eye-opener”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

Pascal specialises in intimate trips to places around Vanuatu that other operators don't show you. I went on two afternoon trips with him - river kayaking and Lololima Falls. The falls were stunning - Pascal takes you up then under falls, into a stalagmite formed cave with bat covered roof, then over and trailing the river bed. It was like exploring the Amazon rainforest but without the killer animals and insects. Both trips ended with the obligatory rope swing into lagoon or river, followed by fruit buffet from Pascal's own garden. Safe yet exhilarating experience made them both magical days.

As with most of Vanuatu, reef shoes and waterproof camera are essential items (I had the shoes, but not the camera, and you will get very wet - Doh!). If you don't have the shoes Pascal has boxes of spares for you to try on, and even offers to take pictures for you.

You really feel that you're seeing things other tourists don't get a chance to, and Pascal is a brilliantly enthusiastic and knowledgable guide. Can't recommend highly enough.

“A must do while in Port Vila - the highlight of our trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

In a nutshell: Fantastic - Amazing - Breathtaking. Set on a private property on Efate, Lololima Waterfall is a majestic wonder of nature, which must be experienced while in Vanuatu. The only way to get there - with Pascal and Vanuatu Ecotours. We were greeted in the foyer of our hotel by a smiling Pascal. Quite unexpectedly, Pascal announced that we were the only guests for the day, which meant that my wife and I got the star-treatment of a private tour. Driving to the waterfall in the back of Pascal's ute, via the expansive views of the lookout over Port Vila, we were enriched with local knowledge by our second host - David. After a short walk through the rainforest, the foliage opened up to the waterfall itself - and what a sight. Having attempted to grasp the waterfall's glory on film, we waded through the pools to explore the limestone caves housing native bats, expertly informed by David. Then it was up the face of the waterfall itself, to experience nature's jacuzzi, where we relaxed, amid the torrent, for what seemed like hours - a truly glorious way to unwind. The remainder of our day was spent swimming in the pools, relaxing in the sun and simply soaking up what was a fantastic experience - mille fois merci Pascal & David.
