“Garlic/Chilli Coconout Crab experience to die for.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

If you ever visit Vila, make sure after you comlete your morning shopping then take a Taxi to Vila Chaumiers, Port Vila. About a 5 - 10 minute drive from Vila, this Resort has the best Coconout Crab in the World. Coconout crabs are sweet to start with and they fill their shell with succulent meat. Have them cooked either Garlic or Chilli and you will never forget the experience. They also have coconut prawns and other sensational meals on their Menu. Tip is to contact them prior to visiting to make sure they have the Crabs available as they are Seasonal. Email them on vilchaum@vanuatu.com.vu. We Cruise reasonably often and each time, we make sure we eat at this Resort/Restaurant. Australian owned....Enjoy.

“over rated and overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

a group of 8 dined in the evening at vila chaumieres. the welcome was cold . the setting was great . food was overpriced and ordinary . my organic pork chops were tough and fatty . staff were cold and unfriendly .
when the bill came it was all in one and i had to split it all up between us with no help from staff at all . there are many great eating places in vanuatu . this is not one of them .

“Good setting and nice food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

we saw rave reviews on this.
the food is good and so is the service.
the resort i would not stay at just judging on the looks of the bungalows, but the restaurant setting is nice on the lagoon.
the eerie green light ups is a bit retro and the food was expensive. not a rip off or anything.
overall good food and good service; we enjoyed our meal, but the food was more expensive than our own 5 star resort's restaurant.

“Nice but pricey”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

We decided to go here one evening. It was in a nice spot but it is pricey. It is out of Port Vila on the 2nd lagoon. I found there were other restaurants, including where we stayed, that had better food.

“Chill out in paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

As a travel agent I had heard of the reputation of Vila Chaumieres as a top restaurant in a romantic overwater location on the lagoon in Vila but was surprised to hear that they offered accommodation as well. The friend who recommended it said relaxation was guaranteed and so we spent a week completely chilling out with wonderful food and wine almost at our feet.
They have well equipped villas scattered within beautiful tropical gardens but I loved our lagoon view room with huge balcony overlooking the water where you can read in comfort and catch the breeze. We were almost reluctant to leave the property to sightsee but there is much to see and worth another trip! The highlight of our stay was definitely the food at Vila Chaumieres and we were able to sample most of the menu – top quality steak and seafood and my favourite lunch of Tahitian marinated fish. The seafood platter was memorable as was the divine chocolate mousse not to mention those excellent French wines. Truly felt as if we’d been a lot further than a three hour flight!
