“Luxury place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2010

I was in honeymoon.the experience it was great!
pro: luxury place, really good food, really good staff. geat beach ( one of the best i ever seen). the water in fron of the beach is full of corals (not natural, so the owner carried them from another place) an fishes. The pool is good and the jacuzi is superb. you can make a lot of activity and there are some shows at evening.
The breackfast is superb!!!!

Cons: TOOOOOOOO expensive ( the minimum is 280$ per night per room) with just breakfast. The meals are very expensive too. The internet connection is not free. The rooms are ok, but not so luxurious as the external. It is far from the center, so you need a taxi ( 8$ for a ride). the cleanliness of the room was medium ( one day there was a bid beatle near the bed, and belive me it is not because of the wild nature, but they don't clean every day!!!).

Final consideration:
If you have money, or you are in honeymoon it is a must in PALAU. If you are a Diver ( but not a rach man) don't go there....it's a shame pay a lot of money to stay just to sleep there. The best aspect is the beach and the pools. The place is very romantic!!!!

Almost everything was perfect: rooms, hotel, pool, beach, cuisine, staff (except a few persons at front desk)
Diving organization is average
We had our flight back at 7.50pm and we knew that we had to pay a lot more for a late check out. So we decided to rent a car on our last day at the hotel and leave it at the airport at 5pm and visit the main island and it was a great idea. 3-5 hours are enough to visit the island.

It is the only resort directly on the beach in Palau. It is very nice, but all day long there is noise, noise, noise. Construction work (so this will stop hopefully one day) but also a lot of maintenance noise: mowing the lawns (at 08.00 o clock!!) blowing leaves, etc etc.
Service at the desk is good (especially the two concierges) but service in the buffet restaurant is very poor. Food is good, breakfast brilliant.
Really stupid touristic performance of local people (woman dance and man dance: really really embaressing!)
Make sure you get a massage in your own private villa on the waterfront!

I was surprised that such an un-modernized island had such a beautiful and accommodating resort like the Palau Pacific. My husband and I enjoyed their room, except for the firm bed. The rooms looked like Micronesian huts and had a very distinct wood smell...it was a pretty neat experience. The resort was very accommodating with breakfast, lunch, and dinner needs. We enjoyed lounging on their private beach and in the hot tub. We also took advantage of their on-site spa. We had such an amazing time. The resort is 5 star, because of the location and accommodations, but I wouldn't say the inside of the rooms were considered 5 star. They were clean and we have no complaints in that department, but they just weren't very modern and spacious. Don't expect a flat screen TV. and endless movie options. The resort had a dock that allowed other dive/snorkeling companies to pick you up. We went with Sam's Tours and they picked us up from the dock every morning. The resort gave us a complimentary room for an hour on our last day there. We didn't have to pay for another night, because we were out on the water all day, but since our flight didn't leave Palau until later on in the night, it was very nice to come back and be able to take a shower and freshen up before our flight home. We were very impressed with the resort!

We just returned from Palau and had a blast. We stayed at PPR upon the recommendation of co-workers and friends. PPR has a private beach, walking trail, pool, salt water fish ponds, tennis courts and a gym. The restaurant serves buffet and ala carte and probably is in the top 5 dining on Palau--and reasonable priced. Other great restauarants in Koror include Elilai--which may be the best and is within a mile of PPR. If you're adventurous, be sure to try the fruitbat at the "Penthouse Hotel," it tastes like dark meat "livery" chicken. Had a couple gripes at PPR. First (and only the first two nights) was mainly related to noise from inconsiderate folks slamming doors in the lodging, which I understand is not PPR's fault, but should be looked into. Also, chickens and roosters roam the property, so if you don't like to wake up at the crack of dawn, bring ear plugs, I always have a pair. PPR still ranks as one of the quiter lodging we've stayed at though. Second, one of the concierge's--I can't remember his name--was one of the most stoic and emotionless people we have ever met. We actually tried to avoid him because his gloominess was rubbing off on us! Otherwise, the rest of the staff were great and loved to play with our toddler son. After checking out, we were allowed to return to the hotel to freshen up in a courtesy room before our late evening flight at no extra charge! Thanks PPR! Hopefully one day we will return to see the pristine environment of Palau.

Very well kept rooms, clean and orderly, grounds well kept. Good room views and quiet. Neat history being on an old Japanese seaplane base. Easy access to town. Meals pricey, but good. Many other restaurants a cab ride away. All Scuba and Snorkeling operations will pick up at dock or in bad weather at front of hotel. Good office, desk and concierge staff. Beach well maintained, with drink service pool or oceanside.

Several years ago, I remember seeing an Imax film about the Pacific and a particular segment of the film really caught my attention. The island of Palau seemed to be only a dream. Little did I know that one day that dream would be realized! Palau Pacific Resort in Koror was our choice for resting our heads. PPR was situated in paradise and the staff was super attentive and kind. By the second day, many of the staff knew our names. I truly felt as if I was home. Although it was a little pricey, I highly recommend PPR!!!
