Myself, my wife, our 7y old son and 5y old daughter visited Dolphins Pacific beginning of October 2008. It was the low season in Palau, so we just checked the bookings on the internet and chose a day with the least people.
We planned to all take the mandatory close encounters program as well as the swim with the dolphins.
We knew that the swim with the dolphins was only allowed from 6y old and that my daughter would not be able to participare, but were surprised to find out that one adult was required to stay with her and that either myself or my wife would also not be able to participate. After some discussions with the friedly staff, they agreed that our daugher could stay with the lady taking care of the drinks shop.
There are 7 dolphins at the centre (2 males and 5 females) that were shipped from Japan. They were looked after by a group of mostly japanese trainers.
The activities are well organised and a lot of care is taken for the well-being of the dolphins. In the swim with the dolphins we were able to touch them and at the end every one of us had a dorsal fin pull.
