“Excellent food, one bad waiter”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2012

There is one waiter, who need a training in how to serve clients properly. One bad waiter can do lot of harm to this above average restaurant

“Excellent Ambience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2012

The food is average for Thai Food, but the ambience and decor more than make for a very pleasant dining experience.

“Magical experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2012

Garden of Eden visited twice: 13th & 20th December 2011. The unpretentious owner Alan Hazel created a true Locus Amoenus: a place of safety & comfort and we were amazed by the vibrant energy of this Garden full of beautiful trees & plants where tables are located & which is decorated very tastefully. The Thai chefs prepared unbeatable authentic Thai dishes such as Tod Man Pla, fishcakes with a tasty chilly paste, Yam Ma Muong, a fresh salad of green mango with a touch of crunchy peanuts. The maindish Gaeng Pad Gae, succulent New Zealand lamb in a rich red curry sauce, where they've added some bitter lemon, made this dish indeed very special. The Pad Krapow Talay: the prawns & squid were wok'ed just right & full of Thai flavours. The Khao Pad, fried rice completed this "journey to Thailand". The nicely chilled Rosé from Chili accompanied the dishes greatly.
We concluded our wonderful Thai experience with the Kluay Buat Chee: freshly wok'ed banana "beignets" with condensed milk & sesame seeds, which were really delicious. The service of the staff in the restaurant was impeccable. They were attentive and made us feel special, which added a lot to the celebration of an unforgettable birthday.
We could not resist to pay another visit before we left Suriname and the second time was indeed a confirmation of our first experience. We would recommend this Garden of Eden to any visitor to Suriname and for sure the people living there.
