“If you want a burger creatively done, go here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

No frills, but burgers with about every combination of themed burgers without managing to hit overkill levels. I have had the Mexican and the Guacamole Aficionado. My Argentine counterparts went crazy and opted for the standard hamburger and three-cheese burger minus two kinds of cheese! They were afraid the other options might have spices added to them :)

What I do like is that the meat is not overcooked and comes "al punto" without having to give much instruction. There are also salads available. One annoying thing is they would not switch my cheese from swiss to cheddar. When I asked, he stared at me for a second and said, "No se puede." Like the opposite of President Obama. It was kind of comical.

“Gourmet???”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

Gourmet is a word that has been over used in Bogota, it's definition is "gourmet food is of the highest quality and flavor, prepared well and presented in an artful manner." This cannot be said of El Corral. The quality of meat in Colombia is poor and El Corral source all their meat locally.
The burgers are bland and the meat is overcooked and has little flavour. The fries served in the restaurant are the commercial frozen ones and are at best acceptable. So Gourmet definately not but like some restaurants in Bogota this word is used so they can charge a higher price without offering any increase in quality or service.

“Burger menu so extensive it's stressful!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

El Corral is a local legend, and the gourmet version delivers. A casual, lively setting, with a menu of burger options so extensive I think it is at least 4 pages long. I chose one with queso fresco, sour cream, and fried plantains. Creative, delicious! One tip -- perhaps it was just the bartender the night we were there, but no one in my party could drink the mixed drinks we ordered, they were way too strong. Next time, I'll stick to a beer.
