“A bit expensive, but cute with great service and location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2010

The location in the northern part of Bogota can't be beat.

I found the price a bit high (and was even able to get a lower price promotion!), but the rooms were cute and unique. The staff was EXTREMELY helpful and attentive with all of my needs. The cafe for breakfast is airy and wonderful.

After spending my first night in Bogota at another hotel with no hot water, this place was a huge step up. Room was right next to a busy street but room was nice (but fairly small), and service was good. Good location close to shops etc...Nice restaurant with free breakfast.

Lobby is really nice, which contrasts with the rooms. Miniature bathrooms that look kind of clean.
Location is good but the price is paid with Noise and a sense of insecurity.
The hotel lacks a real compute system which means the checkout process takes an eternity.
The hotel does not respond for objects stolen in the bedroom.

I'm not sure you'll find other hotels in this area for this price. My husband and I roughly spent about $260 for 3 nights. The building is a little old and the bathrooms are not big enough but then again we were there only to sleep.

The Zona Rosa is about a 5-minute walk and 93 Park is about 10 minutes. The staff was very courteous and helpful; breakfast was included and was different every morning. Not sure if they speak good English as I speak Spanish, but saw a handful of American businessmen who stayed there and didn’t speak Spanish themselves. The bed was better than I expected but it really depends on how picky you are.

If you are a light sleeper, be aware that early in the morning you'll start hearing the buses and cars on the main road where the hotel is located but we didn't have any problems trying to fall sleep. Besides, we were trying to wake up early each day to go around and do different things. Ask them to give you one of the rooms with balcony (located on the last floor) and you'll have a nice view of the park adjacent to it. There is a police station across the street and everywhere you walk there would be private security or police doing random checks on cars. We felt very secure the entire time even though my husband had his reservations since it was his first time in Colombia and he really doesn’t look Colombian at all.

If you go to any of the above mentioned zones (Zona Rosa or 93 Park), make sure you try the burgers from El Corral Gourmet (on either of them), or Archie’s pizza on the latest. You won’t regret it.

The location could not be better, its sides to a lovely park, is a short walk to the Zona Rosa restaurants, mall, and shopping but, there is a slight noise problem.

The lobby is fantastically designed, web access is free in the lobby, the staff is friendly although didn't seem to be too familiar with the needs of foreign non-Spanish speaking tourists.

The rooms are not quite as nice as the lobby and you'll be hard put to find a quiet one. The rooms in the back get the thumping of the base from the disco next door all night and the rooms with a view of the park (although an amazing view) get the roar of trucks rumbling up and down Carrera 15 all night.

I liked the hotel, but after 2 nights there my nerves were shot.

I found better accomodations in Chapinero at lower prices

  • Liked — The lobby is gorgeous and its very close to Zona Rosa
  • Disliked — The noise - high quailty dual pane windows would go a long way here

It's not even listed on TripAdvisor's site, for some reason, but I just stayed in the Hotel Charlotte near the Zona Rosa in northern Bogota and could not have had a better stay. I really thought twice about posting a review, because it's the kind of place that I don't necessarily want to become too popular, in case I want to stay there again. :)

Won't get too long-winded--suffice it to say that the rooms, the restaurant, the service, the location, and the price were all excellent. They've got a website that provides all the details.
