“IN LOVE WITH THESE PEOPLE. Great area close to everything”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2015

I stayed here for about 3-4 wks in total and these are the kindest most caring people I have ever met. The hotel house is quiet and comfortable and the hosts did everything they could to go above and beyond to make me feel more than comfortable, including walking me to the gallerias to make sure i was safe. I will only stay here upon my return to bogota. And I miss Colombia at Home very much, it is my home away from home.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2014

Stayed here for 3 nights in March 2014. The place was clean and relatively basic and as described. There are no signs out front, and it sorta blends into the neighborhood. Have attached a picture of the street, along with the large church immediately across the street. The WIFI worked excellent. I had no phone in my room. The hotel is 3 or 4 blocks from the Transmilenio bus system on 14th street (Caracas). This bus worked well, but at times was ridiculously crowded. Fares was 1400 -1700 pesos per ride, usually the higher amount. I had the single room, which had an external bath, as described once again, no surprise. My biggest complaint was that this room was located very close to the entrance and "office" of this small hotel, and with people coming and going at all hours of the night, it was quite noisy in the room. The door to the room provided little or no noise block. And then on Saturday night, there were loud parties going on somewhere in the neighborhood that ran until 3am. Perhaps ear plugs would work here. The service of the hotel was very good. However, the pleasant women working the front desk spoke 100% Spanish. In fact, no one at the hotel spoke English. This can make communication a bit difficult, but I managed with my limited Spanish. The hotel arranged my ride from the Airport and it was 25000 pesos, approx $12. On the way back, I took a taxi, and the fare was just over 22000 pesos, so little difference there. The neighborhood was interesting. Most spots immediately around the hotel are ok, but a bit shady to the north of Calle 56 for a few blocks. Some neat artisan shops were located along Calle 53. This hotel provided very good value, and had I stayed in one of the rooms upstairs, further from the entrance, I think I would have rated the hotel 4 stars. Had it provided a simple breakfast, that would have gone to 5 stars. Overall, I recommend the place, but be careful of your room selection and be prepared to engage in Spanish.

The folks working here are very very friendly. The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained. There's nothing particularly fantastic about the location, but, it is quite central to everything. Overall, I would totally recommend staying here.

One word of advice: Unless you specify otherwise, the cleaning lady will completely re-arrange and organize your belongings. She is well intentioned and only trying to provide good service, however, if you're not used to that kind of treatment, it may put you off. So, if that's the case, make sure you mention that you only want her to change the bed (or not to service the room at all).

Beyond that, you'll completely enjoy your stay here!

This place is very well located between the city centre and the upper class neighborhood of Bogotas "Centro-Norte". Easy access to every place in the city. Small but cosy with a incredible friendly and helpfull staff. Free wifi and free local phone calls. 24 hour reception. I love this little hotel.

Stayed 3 nights. We had a bedroom with a double bed and private bathroom. This small hotel is very clean. Price is very reasonable. Owner is extremely helpful with travel information and can arrange low cost transportation to airport,

Stayed four wonderful days at this B&B. The staff, owners, and cleaning lady were very warm and helpful. With my limited Spanish they managed to arrange taxis, meals, and advice to make the most out of our stay in Bogota. The rooms were adequate with cable TV, hot water, and comfortable beds and clean towels every morning. The property is 30 minutes from the Candelaria, but believe me you'll be glad it is! Thank you senoritas for all your help!
