We enjoyed a two night stay in the Morrison 84, well located at the edge of Zona T in North Bogota, at the edge of a small and well kept public park. It’s about 10 minutes by taxi from Zona G and 30 minutes from the old centre, where most of the historic buildings are situated. The Morrison is a good base to engage with the consume and party lifestyle of Bogota’s affluent community and it’s also close to the new business and financial centres.
The hotel has a small restaurant overlooking the park, with indoor and outdoor seating. Breakfast is an adequate but rather ‘average’ buffet, with eggs cooked to order. There are many good dining options within easy reach.
WiFi is uncomplicated and free throughout the hotel and there is a small business centre.
Our ‘junior suite’ was a large room with a large bathroom, both well-equipped in a rather bland style.
All the staff we met were friendly and helpful and those at the Front Desk spoke good English.
Bogota’s taxis are plentiful and inexpensive but can be rather scary (high speed and often no working passenger seatbelts). The hotel has a car service which costs somewhat more but is good value for its additional comfort and safety.
The Morrison is a straightforward if unexciting four star and is a quiet oasis in a bustling and noisy city. Recommended to self-sufficient tourist and business visitors
