Excellent hotel!!! They're the best on guest services with your famous Wednesday open bar (when you could go to get free drinks and talk with the personnel openly). If I have to say something... ask for a room not in the front (they are a bit noisy in the morning)

I will start by saying that my rating of this hotel is more a reflection of how they handled a particular situation we were involved in rather than what you may consider an "uneventful" stay (I will get to that towards the end of my review). But in our eyes this is what sets a truly great hotel apart.

My wife and I decided to escape to this hotel to treat ourselves over the weekend after a hard week's work. All was going well until we decided to cuddle up by the fireplace in our room.

We had a bellboy come in and light up the fire for us. But just after a few minutes we started noticing the wall above the fireplace getting darker. We called reception and asked them to send someone to look into it, but after 40 minutes no one had showed up. You would think that the words "fire" and "smoke" would trigger an urgent response from the hotel.

By then, our eyes and throats were starting to hurt and the room (a very large one) had started to get full of smoke to the extent that we had to open every window to let some air in. At this stage we called reception again and it was only then that someone came over.

The situation was so bad that they offered to put us in another room (even if smaller) for the night. We moved to the other room straight away, but not before noticing that the smoke detector in our room wasn't working, otherwise it would have gone off.

The next day the staff showed concern for what had happened and the Duty Manager came out to meet us and apologize during check-out, asking for our contact details to make up for what happened in a future stay.

But we were bitterly disappointed because they failed miserably to recognize how the incident had impacted our plans, so instead of offering something for an eventual next stay (as they did), they should have done something to make our current stay better. Anything from offering to wash our clothes that stank of smoke, to at least charging us the rate of the room we actually stayed in would have been nice.

And to add insult to injury they got the minibar bill wrong and even tried to charge us for the log they used to light up our fire, which we clearly didn't get to enjoy.

To the hotel management I would say that great customer service is not just about being very friendly, calling guests by their name and always being willing to help (all of which they did). It is also, and perhaps more importantly, about understanding your guests, putting yourself in their shoes, and sometimes just using plain common sense.

Paying lip service to caring about customers and doing everything "by the book" is one thing, but genuinely showing you care and understand why your customers stay with you is something else. And I'm afraid that's something they really need to work on.

Having said that, the rest of our stay was pleasant enough. The facilities in the hotel were of a very high standard. The room we had booked was enormous, comfortable and filled with great amenities, even if a bit short on power plugs. The food, while not amazing, was enjoyable; although they need to improve the hot options in the breakfast buffet. I've already mentioned the friendliness of the staff. And we certainly enjoyed our time in the spa.

But all that doesn't count for much if you fail to deliver on the very essentials of customers service. So, based in our experience, I would say I would not recommend this hotel even if 99 out a 100 times they may get it right.

PS. There was no mention whatsoever of the smoke detectors in their apology, but we really hope they get around to checking them…

We sincerely encourage guests to do so because knowing what they experienced during their stay, including all the positive and negative aspects, is what helps us identify areas to improve. We are deeply sorry for the discomfort you experienced; this is certainly not what we wish to deliver and we understand your disappointment on the delayed response.
This case does not represent the quality and service standards by which we are known for, and we are very concerned with this matter. The trust a guest gives us when they choose to stay here is not something we take for granted.

It is important you know that there is periodical maintenance of the fireplaces and smoke detectors. What occurred in this case was a human error that we have identified and taken corrective actions in order to prevent from happening in the future.

As our weekend manager told you at check-out, we sincerely hope that we have the opportunity to redeem ourselves and demonstrate what our true service is all about. We will be contacting you promptly to coordinate your invitation.

Extremely personalized service, immaculately clean, handicapped friendly boutique hotel!!! Our suite far surpassed our expectations (4 TVs!) and the hotel amenities are the best! Spa, sauna, Turkish baths, pool (smallish) and gym membership to the largest chain of gyms in Bogota. The staff are very helpful and welcoming, stressing that while there we are in our home.

I am a regular in this hotel and I had a bad experience a few months ago. However they turned this around! The effort they put was amazing and I had to write this.

During my following visit, the level of the service quality was awesome. I almost felt like a king (or a prince) :).
The hotel is clearly one of the best in Bogota in terms of the quality of the rooms and service.
Whenever I go there all the personnel call me with my name. The concierge is better than a personal assistant. There are no limits in the service and this is their main strength.

I strongly recommend Park 101. You won't regret it.

I recently stayed at the 101 Park House, and had a great experience. I was travelling with my dog (a golden retriever). They booked in advance a room (actually a two bedroom apartment) with a terrace for the dog. When we got there, they had water bowl and a big cookie as a gift to my dog. Everybody was extremely friendly. They have a park right next to the hotel (you do not even have to cross the street). The apartment was very nice and comfortable. The food was also delicious. Overall, a great stay. Thank you!

Big, 2 bedrooms, cozy living room and fireplace! A great combination of space, confort and price. Also good for business, the staff is really kind and fast attending any request.
Probably the 2nd room could have 2 single instead of another double.
