Spent a week for work in Bogota and had a friend take us out for dinner in the Usaquén district. We tried for La Mer, but their was over an hour wait, so we dropped into 7 16 around the corner. Decor is South Western ranch, but with style - no Buckaroo Cowboys. Seated well into the restaurant, we were given a menu that seemed a bit lacking, in selection and different flavor. Yes, the beef is outstanding, but Colombia is a beef country, so you expect it. Fish was typical, grill salmon was tried, accepted, but not stellar. Fish soup on the other hand had probably the most authentic flavor on the table. Salads came drenched, but fresh. The dessert, flourless chocolate cookie followed with same response, good but not anything special. The price does not follow...- high.
I think this location is probably better for lunch or brunch, as we did have some small plates to start, and this was obviously their forte. Tapas with drinks is more their speed.
