“modern and well located”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2012

Modern minimalistic design. Suite rooms with great beds, sound insulation. Located 5 minutes walking distance from parque 93 where many good restaurants are.
i stayed there twice this year, and next time I{m in Bogota, i think I´ll go back to the same hotel. the first time I didn´t bring my computer with me, they provided a new notebook for me to use in my bedroom for as long as I stayed. Breakfast is yummy.
what else? highly recommended

I found this delight of a hotel by triangulation on Google Maps, and I am SO glad I did! Within crawling distance from the "Parque de la 93" and our new office, it is an excellent choice for business travel.
The decor in the rooms is minimalist, but feels clean and well thought out.
The complete black-out curtains are the perfect addition to the floor to ceiling windows all around the corner room where I was fortunate enough to stay.
The staff seems willing to help and looks to go above and beyond.

Room Tip: Corner rooms are awesome, and the black-out curtains, with the electric controls by the headboard, a...

The hotel is very good located near the Square at "Calle 93" where it's possible to find several good restaurants.

The staff is quite helpful and the rooms are relatively new and well designed.

Restaurant is very good and I'd recommend the breakfast !

In Bogota you must be aware of security problems, so avoid taking taxis in the street (only booked through the Hotel) and never ever go alone to any place!

I stumbled on this recently built hotel just off of Parque 93 while searching the net in Bogota. My first impression of this minimalist retro establishment was the silence in the lobby area, nice start =) My 5th floor room was similar in the theme with a loft style open room, high ceilings, glass enclosed tub/rainfall shower and work center. Nice flatscreen as well as remote controlled blackout shades, morning paper and peace and quiet, nice... As for the area, you are really nicely situated here with Parque 93 just a block out the door, carrera 15 only 2 blocks walk plus easy walking distances to Zona T and Zona Rosa. Loads of cafes, restaurants, bars and shopping nearby and I feel perfectly safe on the streets at any hour in this neighborhood. Give the Avia 93 a try, you'll like it!

Ok, I'll admit I'm not exactly a globe trotter, but this was one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. And I'm not just saying that because we were just coming back from a cold-water-only hotel in Providencia.

The room was extremely clean and comfortable. The layout is interesting, with no division between the sleeping area and the bath/sink area. The shower was a big glass box with a huge "rainshower" type shower head. The amenities in the room were all high-tech with a flat screen TV on the wall, an iPod docking alarm clock, and motorized window shades that went up into the ceiling and down into the floor. Unlike most places in Bogota, this hotel also has a ventilation system. The only thing to be warned of is that it's only air conditioning, no heat. We ran the fan for background noise overnight and the room was very cold when we woke up. And the system looks like it should have heat, but it doesn't get warm.

The hotel is also in an excellent location, only about a block from the trendy Parque 93 area of the city. There are several good restaurants and bars within a very short walk from the hotel.

The staff was also excellent and very attentive. We had breakfast included with a good selection and very good food. I think there were more waitstaff than diners in the restaurant, so service was quick.

Overall, an excellent experience.

Super modern rooms with HD TV free standing by the window opposite the bed, modern (but small) bathroom, electric shades, etc. Superb restaurant. This hotel looks almost out of context in the setting of Bogota, but the city has changed so much that now it is modern and more cosmopolitan (depending on zones).

Location is great in Parque de la 93 close to restaurants, shops and night life but in a side street so it is not as noisy.

As a boutique hotel you will not have all the amenities of a larger one but this is luxury with style and great service. I spent 4 days and was very pleased. It is not cheap but not the most expensive in Bogota. The Bessudo family know how to bring cosmopolitan flair to Colombia.

We started and ended a recent trip to Colombia in Bogota, and stayed at two different hotels for the different legs. Both times we stayed in the northern part of the city, in Parque 93 at the Hotel Avia 93 for our first leg, and in Zona G at the JW Marriott for the last leg. There is really no comparison between the two hotels because the Avia 93 is a small boutique hotel and the JW Marriott is truely a world-class luxury hotel. If prices are similar (when we returned to Bogota on a Sunday night, the rate was $209 at the Marriott and $170 at the Avia 93), I would definitely choose the Marriott, no question. However, the Marriott gets quite pricey during the week--it was more than double the price of the Avia 93 a couple of nights we were there--so the Hotel Avia is a good option if you want a lovely boutique hotel in a safe, relatively convenient location, and you don't want to spend a lot.

The immediate location of the hotel is not very attractive due to a construction site across from the hotel, but there was no noise (surprisingly) and you are just a block from many restaurants and a lovely park. It's about a 15-block walk to the shopping district, which we did a couple of times. So overall, I would say the location is good--ten blocks further south would be better, I think, but this was fine. It also appeared very safe, and the hotel offers private taxi service (for a fee), so you can get anywhere you want to go safely and conveniently. You can also call and be picked up anywhere in the city. It is pretty far to the tourist sites downtown (about a 30 minute cab ride), but cabs are dirt cheap and from what I saw on one evening cab ride to dinner, I definitely would not have wanted to stay downtown. (Side note: I live in Manhattan and am very much a city person, but this was a bit too much -- think groups of junkies on the corner. You won't see anything like that in northern Bogota, though.)

As for service, everyone in the hotel was very sweet and accomodating. The hotel is nicely designed and the restaurant is beautiful. The rooms are clean and comfortable and have great showers, and free Wi-Fi too, if I recall correctly. The complimentary breakfast is terrific. Really I have no complaints about our stay here.

Overall, if you are a person who needs a typical luxury hotel with a lot of amenities, this hotel is probably not for you. But if you are looking for a lovely, clean, safe, welcoming hotel with great food and perks like free Wi-Fi, look no further! The Hotel Avia 93 will leave you very satisfied.
