“Excellent hotel for business travel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

The JW is perfect for business travel in Bogota. Service is friendly. Rooms are spacious , clean and well furnished. Bathrooms impeccable - with good shower and bath. The restaurants offer good food. The bar is perfect for business conversations and a good drink - both indoors or in the terrace. The location is convenient- but you will likely always need a cab- they offer good service at the door. If you stay in the executive floor- there is also an extra lounge to relax with more privacy.
Business center service is also top class- with free and friendly service for most needs.

a very nicely appointed hotel with smart and fashionable fitting and fixtures and fab bathrooms . Let down a little by the front desk service. I have stayed at this hotel a few times and front desk service has been weka on every occasion. I waited fifteen minutes to check out this time.

Room Tip: Opt for a room on a higher floor

Check in and check out quick, great breakfast buffet. Rooms are clean with high end finish, beds and pillows are comfortable. We had the couples massage what was amazing and well worth the money. Swimming pool, jacuzzi and gym are great. Overall good hotel.

On a two week tour of Colombia, I stayed in Bogota a couple times and on my last night there, I finally got things right -- in terms of quality and location.

My first hotel was a Starwood property (the Four Points Bogota) mostly because of my elite status and that hotel turned out be in a boring out of the way neighborhood....the W is brand new but that one is WAY too far north to be convenient for any of the tourist activities....finally I found a good lux property here in the JW Marriott.

The place is stylish (not very "Colombian" or latin, really, just a very nice, contemporary style to the place), with excellent amenities (robes, slippers, high end bathroom stuff, complimentary bottles of water in the room, etc), a very comfortable bed, everything very clean and modern, just a great room. High end furnishings. Nice bathroom - separate door for the toilet, both a tub and a shower, everything was perfect.

The service was also excellent. Most happily, English was spoken well by most of the staff. This is a challenge in Colombia as even the staff at many hotels have a hard time with English, and while I respect the need to learn Spanish, sometimes you just have needs/requests that you don't know how to make in Spanish, and being able to have a complete, brief conversation in English is quite a relief.

Besides the English skills, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was also notable.

I had a massage in the spa which was included in my room package. The massage was decent, just "ok" by American standards actually but that is true for all 3 of the massages I had on this trip -- I don't know that Colombians get the concept of "deep tissue" the way Americans too. The pressure was never firm enough. But still I found the experience very relaxing, and the facilities -- combined gym/spa -- are very nice. And the price I paid -- the room+breakfast+massage package -- was a STEAL. (As is most of Colombia, a great bargain country! for now.)

The gym is pretty decent, for a hotel gym -- although the heaviest freeweights they have are 10 kg (22 lbs). I wish they had heavier weights. Also the weights are a very smooth slippery silver, which makes certain exercises tricky. So, if you want a serious workout you should go to a full gym but for a quick light workout, the JW has a pretty nicely maintained room.

I ate in the surf-and-turf restaurant in the ground floor and the food was pretty good. I was disappointed to see on a Sunday evening that the sushi restaurant was closed.

The breakfast buffet is very good, also. Includes a made to order omelette station, with the completed egg dish brought directly to your table, so you don't have to stand around waiting like a cafeteria or something. Everything is very classy. Plenty of other hot dishes, and particularly unique was a fruit bar, where an attendant is waiting to cut you up a custom-made fruit plate based on your choosing.

The location of this hotel was great too -- south enough so that it is very easy to get to the tourist stuff in the city center by taxi.

If you are interested in bars and clubs in Chapinero, this hotel is also very close to that neighborhood as well.

My cab driver from BOG airport didn't know this hotel, even when I showed him the map on my phone, he found it very confusing. All cab drivers in Colombia seem confused by maps and prefer to just be told the exact intersection instead. Very odd, but FYI this hotel is also right near the Hilton if that helps to find it.

The one thing I didn't like was the security dog posted at the front door. Cops insisted on sniffing my bags upon entry and there is also a metal detector wand they use on you. Obviously this is to make people feel safe but I don't need this kind of security in my life. I think it is security theater, for the benefit of Americans. I noticed at other hotels, that were not American brands and did not have American clientele, that no such security was present, and I'm certain those hotels were just as safe.

All in all, a fantastic stay, I didn't want to leave the hotel!

This hotel had friendly staff. It was located in a nice neighborhood that we felt safe walking in. It near a large shopping area and a gastronomic district. It was relatively close to the central historic district but in a nicer neighborhood. El Ciclo goes by right out front if you want to rent a bike and join in on Sundays. The spa is inexpensive and wonderful. They have a very reasonable car service as well that will take you anywhere in and out of town as well as pick you up from the airport. Great breakfast also.

Spent the night here this week. Hotel is very nice and don't be scared by the high security at the door. The spa is excellent and you can get packages that include free hour massage for very reasonable rate. The restaurant is also quite good with steak/seafood and sushi options. Will be my go to from now on when in Bogota

This hotel is great for business trips. It is quite in line with other JW Marriotts I have stayed at in the past. The rooms are beautifully appointed, clean and safe. The hotel restaurants are all excellent with fresh and delicious food. The service is really the highlight of this place... everyone was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Be sure to consider a stay here if you are traveling to Colombia. It's fantastic!
