“Perfect Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

I LOVED this hotel. The staff was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The rooms are clean and larger than I expected. It is conveniently located within walking distance to Plaza de Bolivar, Museo de Oro and many other museums and historical places. My son and I walked everywhere and we felt very safe. We have traveled to numerous places around the world and we were very impressed with this hotel. Definitely would recommend it.

We did not stay in the hotel, as the hotel had an issue with bookings, something wrong with one room and affected a group so it was easier to move us. As our taxi drove up, a staff member came and greeted us by name and asked if we would remain in the car as we were being transferred to another hotel in La Candelaria. She hoped in and came with us. Despite the short distance, the transfer took quite some time (road closures in the area as there were festivities on this Saturday), and she told us about the area and made some suggestions on what to do - her excellent English made it very helpful. Stayed with us until check-in was complete and confirmed with the hotel that we would only be paying the rate agreed with Casa Deco, with the Casa covering the difference. Invited us to come to Casa Deco for breakfast if we wished or to call her if we had any issues or questions. Excellent handling of the situation and her friendliness and professionalism will make us again consider Casa Deco when we return to Bogota.

An eclectic hotel very conveniently located. The receptionists are the best i experienced in Columbia. All the rooms are different, try and get a rooftop room with terrace and view over the old city. Enjoy a beer as the sun sets taking in the ambiance of Bogota.

Room Tip: Rooftop rooms are large and have an open terrace

Great location in the historic center of Bogota. Walking distance to all the museums, lots of restaurants in the area. Hotel was very clean, beds comfortable, nice bathrooms. Great breakfast in the morning. The gentleman that serves breakfast was really pleasant and efficient. Ingrid and the desk staff were very helpful and pleasant. Coffee and tea available all the time. Our only complaint was the noise. The way the building is designed sound travels up the central courtyard from the front desk and restaurant area. We were original in a room on the second floor, closest to the restaurant and desk. It was really, really loud. The staff was great about our problem they changed our room for the next night and even upgraded us to another room. Which was much more quiet and was lovely. We had the misfortune of being there when there was a large group booked that was meeting late into the evening and early in the morning. Again the staff was really accommodating which was great. The hotel just needs to install some double paned glass on the internal courtyard windows and more soundproof doors. That would really help with any future noise issues.

Room Tip: higher up rooms are quieter

We stayed two nights in October and it is a lovely hotel, with friendly family feel. All staff very helpful and the breakfast was great. I was a little cold on a nighttime, the duvets may be too low a tog and as I have read elsewhere the atrium does echo up the stays, but it was very comfortable and accommodating.

I chose this hotel due to its location and past reviews. I arrived early at the hotel and was given an early check in. The receptionist Ingrid was great at check in. She gave us information about the hotel and area. Our luggages were promptly taken to our room. We loved the decor of the hotel. Our room was spacious and had two beds. We got to wonder and visit the other rooms and we loved the decor. The rooftop rooms and space were wonderful. Enjoy the sunsets and view of the city at night. We were four blocks away from most sites so we walked everywhere the first night. We got lost and took a wrong turned and almost got robbed by some dudes who try to stop us but we kept on moving. At night we had a hard time sleeping due to their hard beds and pillows. Bring your earplugs since there is a lot of traffic in the morning and it will awaken you. The doors for the rooms need better sealing since you can hear the noise from the lobby (we were in room 207). I made sure I shared my comments when I checked out. The breakfast was great so make sure you take advantage of it. The North side of the city is 30 minutes away and make sure you visit for dining at night. Zona T is great for dining and bars. Do not walked at night in the Candelaria it can be dark and shady. If your taking the Teleferico take a cab to it. The altitude will get to you. We tried walking there and we were huffing and puffing. The hotel has great WIFI in the lobby.

Room Tip: Bring earplugs and/or choose rooms away from the street. Also bring slippers the floors can be cold...

The hotel is the in the perfect location. I thought i would be nervous but i felt incredibly
safe in the hotel and the Candeleria area, obviously don't take any risks asked
the hotel staff about things they will advise you. The beds were just great
they were just so comfortable and the breakfast was just yummy .The owner and the
receptionist made me feel like it was my home - they were just so friendly and helpful.
I'd wish i could have spent more time there.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone - its very clean, very central, very nice,
very warm and friendly -five star all round
