“Wonderfully preserved”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

It's so bad that the colonial area in La Paz is pretty much limited to Calle Jaen. The buildings are beautiful, and the area really quite, with nice stores and cafes.

“Hidden Gem in La Paz”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

This street is beautiful! We were there on a holiday, so almost nothing was open on the street, but that was almost better. We had the street to ourselves! It looks so picturesque, so beautiful. It's worth going to Jaen Street just to walk down it and see the architecture. What a treat!

“Wish there were more in La Paz”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

The well-preserved, quaint, stoned road is a welcome surprise if coming from the big, crowded, noisy boulevards and street markets of the rest of La Paz. At the lower end of the road is an elders' home with sweet folks sitting in the sun and feeding pigeons. The colors of the houses varied from bright yellow to violet, very different from the brick colored buildings standing in the rest of the city. The 2 houses of Jaen and Murillo were very well-conserved and marked with an info plate worth a read.

“Best place in La Paz”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Okay so the 4 museums were closed (easter sunday) but we popped in the the muscial instrument museum which was fun to have a go on some of the instruments. We took a few pictures and found a nice art gallery at the end. So some might say not a lot to do but it was a little sanctuary away from all the noise of the city.

“Fun street”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

Only 3 of the 4 small museums were open when we visited (the gold and silver museum was closed), but it was still fun. The street is lovely with all the charm of the 18th centery. The buildings that the museums are set in were beautiful. The displays looked great, but we had no idea what they were about due to our appalling Spanish and no translations. Overall a fun place to spend an afternoon.
