“Really enjoyable evening”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2014

We visited this place on arrival in la paz just looking for some familiar food. We ended up staying all evening and into the night for drinks. The food is delicious and wholesome. The music is great and the owner is friendly. Try the curry and don't forget your free shot!!!

“Overrated”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2014

We went on two separate occasions, once for lunch and once for breakfast. The pie was too watery and despite excellent mash the dish was very disappointing. The next visit, when craving a full English, we went to the bar to be disappointing again. Apart from the sausage the meal had an odd taste. Such a shame, really expected a lot more

Hi Dannam27

I was really sorry to find out you didn't enjoy your food here, especially the pie, they are always so popular. Can I ask which one you had and if you let someone know at the time? I would have loved the opportunity to see what went wrong. As for the funny taste you say your breakfast had, I can only assume that is the sweetness most Bolivian products have, (excluding for our famous home made sausages I am glad to say) it does take some getting used to I'm afraid.

Please come back and give us one more chance to make it up to you if you are still about

Regards
Martin and The English Pub team

“We forgot we were gringos”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2014

Eating at the English pub gave us the feeling we were back home having some beers and grub with the mates for the first time in three months. The food was fantastic, homely and we could bearly finish it because it was so large, but we couldn't let such great food go to waste. The beer was cold and went down like a home sick mole. Others in the pub were friendly and in good spirits, music was spot on and the service was great, I didn't even have to utter a Spanish word... Both thumbs up for this gem.

“Massive portions, relaxing and so friendly”

Went there on our first night in la paz. Arrived feeling overwhelmed and a little lost, left feeling full of yummy food and relaxed from the good drinks and chilled atmosphere. Would recommend for anyone needing an effortlessly good evening.

“Huge portions good staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2014

Food was great, and staff nice. Steak and ale pie good and my burger came on white sliced bread instead of a baguette as the menu promised but the guys sorted it out for me. I would visit again to try more food. It was a Sunday night so not much going on but two TVs to catch the sport, music and wifi good.
