This place was a real find! It's really out of place - a short drive from the main drag which is a welcome change from pricey and flashy Punta and surrounds. The hotel sits in lush gardens and has a real European feel. The reception staff were great with great recommendations for local hangouts. The rooms in the tower are very wee with quite the smallest double bed we have stayed in a hotel. Immaculate bathrooms and lovely little touches that made it homely without being chintzy. There's a small well equipped gym at the top of the tower which we made good use of. We stayed on our second and third nights in a bigger room with a normal sized bed on the ground floor pool side. The pool and gardens are lovely and the poolside lunch restaurant does a great buffet salad. The highlight for me was the breakfast with the best coffee in Uruguay, plentiful fruit and homemade breads. Def recommend this place - enjoy!
