Our first visit occurred on the occasion of our anniversary. My husband notified the staff in advance and we were showered with congratulations upon arrival. We began in the bar, where aperitifs are served from 6-8 pm. The staff brought several items, which had been freshly prepared, and are served gratis during this time. The staff gave us a tour of the cheese and grappa rooms, located adjacent to the bar. Our meal was outstanding, homemade pasta, artichoke ravioli in one case and smoked salmon carbonara in the other. We also shared an anti pasta of a beef carpaccio which was equally divine. The chef sent a trio of deserts, (tiramisu, a truffle and dark chocolate and orange sorbet), with a hand written, "Happy Anniversary" in chocolate. We enjoyed the meal and attention from the staff so much that we made a reservation to return, with another couple, the following evening.
The quality of the food was a repeat from the previous evening. One of our diners noted the veal shank she had, "was the best she has ever eaten".
Word is out that the food is so delicious, reservations are recommended, as both nights all tables were occupied. The mangers, Marco Di Pasquale, introduced himself on our first visit and welcomed us back on the second. Munad took excellent care of us at our table, Stefano, the chef, well need I say more, we absolutely love his food and Genny at the bar makes the most sublime cocktails. Note, the cocktails are quite expensive, 150 AED a piece, but they are lovely.
