“Great hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2014

Location of hotel very good. Rooms larger than normal.
Facility's good. Resturant top floor open till late. Very friendly staff.
Comfortable beds and extras provided in rooms.
Odd occasion had to remind staff of missing items in room when making up in the morning but nothing major.

The hotel was pretty good. I was nervous when I saw the lights running up and down the building. However, there is valet service which may take some time. The hotel has a real Arabic feel too it. The decor is quite busy, but has some appeal. The only problem I had was that I asked for an iron that night. I was told they would have one in the morning. I called in the morning, and the same person (I believe) told me that they did not have any available. The Egyptian cotton sheets were a bit worn. Instead of nice, silky sheets, the sheets had more of a cotton or wool feel.

Room Tip: Ask for an iron well in advance. There is a lot of construction going on, and roads to the hotel ma...

Stayed here 6 nights--all the while booked via specials on Agoda or Booking.com. Had a very large room with a good king bed & a view of the sunset behind the Sheraton Hotel on the 16th floor. Very good value for money (@85-100USD per night). Very well located for jumping off to business, tourist, sunbathing sites. Not so good news: management is below average/little to no people skills or concerns. Worst thing--if you are crazy enough to want to swim in 90+F the rooftop pool hours are posted as 8am-7pm. In reality the restaurant occupies the pool area and frowns on swimmers. You have to call the desk to get the pool opened at 8am and at 630 pm the restaurant people told me I couldn't swim! They line the pool area with tables and people smoke their swishes from noon to nite (and watch you swim in a tiny area) Unpleasant.

Room Tip: Get a higher room facing Salam Street

The hotel was very nice. It was well-taken care of, generally. Our room was clean, but we weren't given any towels (had to ask for them twice). The check in process was generally painless. Our room wasn't ready until the afternoon, but the staff allowed us to leave our bags behind their counter. The neighborhood wasn't anything special, but it was near some attractions and we were able to walk to some restaurants nearby. The hotel's restaurant choices aren't great. All in all, a good choice for the city.

The hotel is very well located, just 5 min walk from the beggining of the Corniche.
We stayed at the Executive Suite, which was really spacious and comfortable, everything we had hoped for. We checked in pretty quick and we were offered arabic coffee at the lobby. The bell boys really helpful. The reception staff also, although not really friendly, as some have already mentioned. They brought us the baby cot immediately.
Cleaning service came every day and they responded promptly when we asked for some clean sheets.
Room service was good, breakfast had sufficient variety and smoking sisha by the pool was a very relaxing experience, since there was a (rather) small playroom for the kids next to the restaurant. Jacuzzi was a great treat!
No alcohol was served in the hotel, but we knew that in advance, so it wasn't a big problem.
The wi-fi in the room was rather quick.
They did however fail to deliver our wake up call the day of the departure. Luckily we had also set our alarm clocks. Also the front desk staff hardly ever smiles, can't figure out why!
All in all a very nice experience. Would definitely visit again!

Room Tip: The executive suite is absolutely great, and not much more expensive than the basic room.

the hotel interior was a bit victorian, the furnishings are new, and the carpets were clean.
the staff was so friendly and accomodating its a really a pluss.. , while their vallet parking service is big plus because its really difficult to find a parking in abu dhabi..

i like their shower its separted from the tub, and its rain shower..

the only thing i dont like about my stay was when i booked it online i clearly choose on the option that i want a queen size bed, but they give me a twin bed room on my first night..

althou they change my room the second night and finally got my queen bed..

This hotel is very nice hotel and the staff at the reception and manager were all very helpful and knowledgeable.

There are some negatives about the property, such as cleanliness and the numerous old men who sit around the lobby and smoke. I don't smoke so it is annoying.

If you're looking for a nice place to stay in abu Dhabi the royal international hotel is sufficient.
