“MUST VISIT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

World's first ZERO carbon city. Whats there not to visit.
U can arrive by car, public bus (AED4 one way) and then hop on to electric train to take you around Masdar.
Can be confusing the first time, when I drove there. I felt the signage wasnt adequate.

“Conceptual place, nice to discover”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2014

When visiting Abu Dhabi, MASDAR is worth the stopover.
Building layout and construction material characteristics are interesting, the wind tower is a modern replica of the Middle-East old times smart cooling invention.
The transportation from car park to main living area is done with automatic electrical cars, a fancy and funny way to approach the place.
And for those willing to join Masdar Institute of Technology the place is really fantastic. I wish a was a student there!

“RTA is the best.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2014

I think the RTA was the only cool thing about it. The concept is interesting but you cannot see much of the cool nerdy stuff.

“Good progress so far, more to follow...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2014

Around 1/3 of Masdar is complete with a forecast completion date of 2025 for the remaining two thirds. By Masdar City aspires to have become a global clean energy & urban cluster, incorporating research, development, technology demonstration and though leadership in the Cleantech space, all powered by clean electricity (mainly Solar PV). On arrival, one is met at reception on ground level and offered an overview of the project and progress via a 3D display model. Then you're invited to take a seat in a driverless car (max. four people) which takes you to the main reception on the 1st floor, either for a guided tour (needs pre-booking) or simply to explore the development at one's own pace. The construction of the Labs, Student Living Accommodation and other buildings is very impressive indeed and various small cafes, shops and restaurants are located within the recreational areas in order to get food and refreshments. If the final two thirds (business space and urban accommodation) develop along the same lines - I'm moving there!
