“Life's a beach here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

What make's this luxurious hotel stand apart from the other ones I have stayed in is the opulent white sand private beach (which is man-made, I was told) that comes with it.
One can spend hours splashing around in the azure water, immerse in a book under the rows of umbrellas (or Kindle, as the case may be), or simply soak in the sun.
The hotel itself is immaculately clean, rooms are comfortable and large with large attached verandas, in case you want to take that sunbath in a little more privacy.
The place is serviced by a fleet of friendly staff. The restaurants are excellent with an extensive wine collection. In all, top notch.

Dear Koustov,

Thank you for your review and I am delighted you enjoyed your stay here. I would like to correct one point and that is the beach is natural, not man made. This is part of what makes Saadiyat Island so special. The walkways which you would have traversed on your way to the beach are to preserve the natural sand dunes which are the nesting areas for the hawksbill turtle. We have a Marine Biologist joining us next month and she will be running educational programs for our guests on this phenomena. Please do come back and meet her.

Yours sincerely,

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed our stay. There were some negative points, however.
The hotel itself is beautiful, minimalist and classy. The location is fantastic. We were very happy with the room, nice and big at 50m2. The bed was comfortable. The facilities in the room were great, nice Nespresso machine. I would have liked a larger choice of teas, including some herbal teas. The lighting system was complicated and it took a long time to figure out which switches controlled what. The bathroom was amazing with rain water shower and free-standing bathtub. Not enough drawers or storage space though. The balcony was great, with a lovely daybed. The balcony overlooked the pools, gardens and the sea.
The sea at Saadiyat Island is turquoise and crystal clear. It was windy when were there and there were some pebbles on the sandy beach. By the morning, they had all gone with the help of a tractor seen sweeping the sand. Apparently, turtles hatch on the beach (the info at the hotel said between May and July), gazelles come onto the beach and dolphins can be seen off shore. We, sadly, saw none of these. We did, however, see plenty of people walking along to the hotel beach from the public beach next door. It seems that they can't put up a fence to keep the sections of the beach separate because of the danger to the aforementioned gazelles and turtles.
The pool area is set in gardens. Everything is wonderfully clean and well maintained. The pools themselves, are a little disappointing. There is an adults only pool which is nice. However, the other pools are too shallow and small and really quite boring. There is a children's pool, which is nothing more than a paddling pool. They should put in a kid's slide into a deeper pool to keep them interested. There is a bad policy of letting people reserve sunbeds from the early morning, even if they don't turn up until 4pm! The pool attendants are attentive, towels and free cold water is plentiful. They even come around every couple of hours or so with free juices or fruit kebabs (a nice touch). The kids club was nice and the kids made cookies there in the morning. The rest of the activities are a bit basic, suited to pre-school kids, which is odd as the kids club only takes kids from 6-12.
What lets this hotel down is the food in the restaurants. The food at breakfast is basic and limited in choice. At dinner, we had a bar-b-que by the sea. The food was awful, meat overcooked and salads and deserts limited. The service in the hotel is also slow with check-in and check-out taking more than half an hour at none busy times. The hotel also refused a request for a late check-out - even insisting that we check out an hour earlier than was advertised! We had to argue to be able to check out at 1pm.
Overall, a really lovely hotel. It just needs some improvements in food and service to be amazing!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sea view. Don't take one of the bungalows, they are miles away and don...

Dear Rachael,

Thank you for your detailed review and I am pleased you enjoyed your stay. Your comments on the room are great to hear as well as we worked long and hard to make them a little different but comfortable and luxurious. Next time you come, please let us note what teas you like and we will have them set up for you in the room. I am really disappointed you did not see a gazelle or a dolphin. The gazelles mostly live on the golf course but the dolphins are near daily visitors to this part of the beach which is partly why the hotel was the first on the island – to get this section of the beach to maximize dolphin viewing and for the quality and depth of the sand. I am not sure I agree on your room tip though as these villas are the most popular, so peaceful and tend to be the most in demand. Finally, let me apologize that you had trouble getting a late checkout till one. Although the hotel is busy we should have been able to do that. I hope to see you back.

Yours sincerely,

Stuart Deeson, General Manager

The check-in was very friendly and the room was clean- at the beginning of our stay.
We were there for 8 days and at the end of our visit, we were very disappointed. It doesn't deserve the name Park Hyatt. The rooms were a little bit dirty and coming to check the room at 10 o' clock at night was a little late. The food in the restaurants was good but the service not so...
We also had felt a little bit cheated because the pools looked nothing like the pictures on the internet.
We expected more for our money.

As the name stands, it is all Hyatt which in english meand "from the high gate". This perhaps is one of the most amazing properties I have ever stayed at. The hotel is GRAND and is maintained to a spot free shine. All of us felt that we are the first one to use this property, though it has been there for a while.

The hotel has a private beach, which at sunset, looks amazing and beautiful than most of the beaches that you may have been to. The uncensored view of this beach from the balcony makes you feel that you are at the beach while you are relaxing on the big nice couch in the balcony inside your room.

Poolside area is the main attraction inside the hotel and is being done and maintained neatly. The restaurant - "The Cafe" on the pool side serves fantastic and filling breakfast in the morning which doesn't let you get on to anything else until dinner time, I bet!

Park Hyatt has library facility with complementary internet services and has reasonable OK collection of books and an tuck shop inside the library.

The rooms are large and spacious with all modern amenities and almost everything is done with perfection. I recommend room nos ranging from 550 to 558 to get the most of the sea in your room when you wake up from a good night sleep. Spend some time in the balcony with your complementary cup of Arabic coffee and shoring sea waves and relax!

The check in and check out is pretty fast, though I had my own set of issues while checking out the hotel. But considering perfection in everything else I can let this get written off as benefit of doubt.

Overall, an excellent experience and I look forward to be there again sometime.

Note: For travelers looking value for money, this property could be on the top end matrix and can be safely avoided.

Room Tip: Choose rooms between 550 to 558 unless you are staying in a Villa. Choose Villa 716 which has inroo...

This is a high quality hotel. The standard of accommodation and public areas is excellent. The rooms are very well finished and are very contemporary. They feature a large bathroom with huge tub and excellent shower. The food is also of very good quality. Breakfast is extensive and the quality of ingredients is very high. We ate at The Beach House, The Park Grill, at the buffet, at the barbecue and also from the beach snack menu. The one consistency is that the food was always very good and excellently prepared. We also found food and drink reasonably priced for this type of accommodation, although as always wine was ridiculously priced.

There are few downsides, the major one being the service. The standard of service is nowhere near what you should expect from a 5 star hotel. The hotel is newly opened and it shows in the quality of the team. They are not yet able to deal with anything outside 'the norm'. We experienced some minor problems with room servicing and a considerable inability to appropriately service requests in the restaurants. I am sure that this will improve as they gain experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time relaxing here and will definitely return.

Room Tip: All rooms are well appointed and look out over the sea.

Having stayed here before in this luxurious hotel we were very much looking forward to our second visit.....and it certainly won't be our last.
The hotel itself is superbly designed combining a contemporary Arabic style with an opulent elegance. Spotlessly clean throughout. The Restaurants are top end . Excellent food and great service. I was particularly thrilled as a vegetarian to see a wide choice , and on a couple of occasions was asked if I would like the chef to prepare anything in particular for me.
The service throughout the hotel is amazing.Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are always smiling and on hand to help. Our 3 yr old also loved being cared for by the excellent team at camp Hyatt and often asked to go there, allowing me and my partner to relax. There are many pools to choose from so you can either opt in to a family atmosphere or quietly retire to the adult only cabanas . The private beach is a two minute walk providing a stunning backdrop and opportunity to swim in the almost transparent water .
Having stayed in many five star hotels I think what really sets this hotel apart from others is the attention to detail. Complimentary cold water / iced face towels / fruit kebabs and cocktails are served throughout the day round the pool. The waiters are on hand serving a great poolside menu at a very reasonable price. .
I treated myself to a facial in the award winning spa and was not disappointed.....A luxuriously relaxing experience.

I am struggling to try and balance this review with something that I didn't like . It is truly a five star experience on all levels. This is reflected in the prices of the two a la carte restaurants.....But freshly prepared superb food served in top end restaurants always carries a premium.

So , many thanks to the management and the whole team for yet another superb break away from a rather chilly London.
We will be back !!

Room Tip: A beach view room is a must.

This is a modern state of the art place with excellent rooms and very comfortable beds. The breakfast is of a very high standard although hey need to learn how to do Eggs Benedict! It is a little way out of town on Saadiyat Island but the postion and the beach compensate well. There was a 3 day conference on when we stayed and that did impact adversely on our stay - it would be good if delegates could be contained in a specific area rather than spreading all over the hotel in huddles of suits around laptops - not very relaxing for any suits on holiday!!

Room Tip: take any room as you will spend days elsewhere
