“Great location, but you pay the price!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013 via mobile

Located in the grounds of the Emirates Palace hotel, this restaurant consists of a number of gazebo type seating areas right on the beach front - the location is superb.

Food choice is of the grill / BBQ variety - meats, fishes, burgers etc, with a decent selection of cocktails and wines to go with them. Quality was okay, but wow do you pay a premium!!! 2 of us each had a starter and a main course (nothing fancy - burger, tuna steak etc), a couple of cocktails each and bottle of water. The bill came to £180!!! I'll say that again in case you think it was a typo - £180!!! One Hundred and Eighty Pounds. I still can't believe it...

Location and atmosphere would be hard to beat, but there is no way on earth the overall experience justified that kind of cost.

Such a shame - we loved the location, but felt totally ripped off.

“Beautiful setting and very nice meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

Myself and my family had dinner here on a new year break to abu dhabi, we were staying in the St Regis and decided to venture out for the night and to have a look at the spectacle that is the Emirates hotel. The setting is amazing, we were slightly concerned that it might be a bit cold as it is winter there now and the evening temperature can drop but there were plenty of heaters and they can provide cosy blankets also if needed to keep the chill off.
The food was great and the smell of the BBQ is enticing in the air as you approach the restaurant which is located at the back of the hotel on the beach.
Most of the group opted for Steaks which were all praised highly and cooked perfectly to individual specifications. For starters we had a variety of chicken wings, bread and dips and fish cakes, again all very nice. Only the hungry boys of the family were able to squeeze in dessert and again these were all very tasty. I would highly recommend this restaurant, it is inviting and could be very romantic for a couple. There is a nice outdoor lounge area beside it which would be good for pre or post dinner drinks. The only reason I am giving it 4 and not 5 overall is that when we sat down the very nice waiter asked if we would like to start with a glass of champagne, 4 of us thought this would be lovely...we probably should have checked the price first and when we got the wine menu were quite shocked to see that each glass was about 25 euro. It is a fairly pricey place but good for a treat.

“Great Food and Setting but Very Expensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

The setting is amazing. There are not many places you can sit out on the beach while eating wonderful steaks while listening to the sea lapping against the sand.

We were staying at Emirates Palace but if you are not, this would also be a great way to see the hotel. It provides a fabulous backdrop to the meal.

The pricing at the restaurant, however, is far too high. The food is very good, but not that good.Emirates Palace is not a cheap hotel by any stretch of the imagination but even by their prices, this is expensive.

My wife and I shared a prawn starter and then each had a steak. I had a couple of beers while she had a glass of champagne. The bill was around £200 which seemed OTT. It wasn't helped by the fact that we originally were brought an incorrect bill for around £300. When I queried it, the waiter took it away and returned with the words "Sorry for small mistake". I appreciate mistakes happen but I'm not sure I'd have classed it as small. It would be quite easy to have missed it if not paying attention.

“greatest setting in Abu Dhabi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

good food, great setting. that sums it all. we dined on crab salad for starters, then had chargrilled sea bass (one whole fish each) with one glass of wine, and dessert/coffee plus one chicha to close the deal. the food was good but not mind blowing. but very nice still. service was great. now, this beach restaurant is one hell of a bargain since the setting is definetely mind blowing. the grandeur of the Palace behind you, the fire lit beach, the plush dining huts, the quiet wind blowing gently, everything concurs to provide you with one hell of a wonderful evening.

expensive ? not so much. you obviously have to pay for such a setting. but if you can very well stay under 300 dhs per person if you want to do so. even less if you're a light eater. our meal cost us 1000 dhs all included, and we don't regret any single dhr of it.
