In this case, not a description of Prince Charming but the place he might live in. My mother and I spent ten days enjoying the sanctuary and romanticism of this impeccably restored Beit Arabi in the heart of the Old City. Each room is unique - one is even inscribed in calligraphy and poetry, just one of the many personal touches that help the guest to feel at home, and yet very far away from the ordinary. This boutique hotel, in the Christian quarter of Bab Touma, is very accessible and yet situated comfortably away from the busy main hub and is therefore quiet. Traditional Arabian hospitality harmonises with all modern conveniences i.e. high speed internet connections, good plumbing and excellent heating. In spite of the abundance of sights to see, it is very tempting to spend a day lounging in the court-yard or tea-room, enjoying its tranquility.

My family and I stayed at Beit Zafran Hotel for 2 nights.
The hotel was good , it is located at dead end walk way which make car access difficult , it is 2 minutes walk from the bustling main street with a lot of shops and resturants , a very pleasant walk to many of Damascus bazars , you do not need any car transport except for the airport. Unfortunately we had 2 sleepless nights because of strong winds blowing on the open foyer plastic cover, I wish the management take care of this.
All in all it was great stay ....
I have to mention of the great local breakfast served at the roof green house with a very nice breakfast staff

Stayed there based on Tripadvisor reviews and was not disappointed. Manager Mr. Nour Moftah and his staff made us feel very much at home and upgraded us to a spacious Jr. Suite for our 2nd and 3rd days. The location on a secluded street made for a very quiet atmosphere while being only 1 1/2 blocks from a busy commercial street very near almost all of the main attractions. The Syrian breakfast served daily by a cute, young waitress was ample and delicious though the steep stairs down to the breakfast room could have used a handrail for a 64 yr old with shaky knees. A small lobby bar and a fitness center would be nice additions and are probably in the works, TuanBesar69

We stayed at the Beit Zafran for the first two days of our tour through Syria, and it is quite possibly the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Our room, which had a private terrace overlooking the small court yard, was beautiful. The rooftop restaurant terrace was wonderful, and the breakfast service was impeccable. I really cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Imagine yourself being invited to the noble house of an Ottoman Pasha. Rooms decorated with artful antiques. Everybody in the house, trying to make the few days you will spend there, unforgettable. This is the best way to imagine Beit Zafran.

Perfectly situated, very friendly staff and all you can expect from a beautiful small hotel (only 12 rooms). Every detail is very special bringing to life the luxury of an Ottoman luxury residence. Our favorite hotel in the middle east and quite an unexpected gem!!!

Stayed a total of 3 nights. Was originally a house-converted into a boutique hotel. Central courtyard has to be seen to be believed. Greeted at the door with juice and fresh towels. Rooms were spacious and clean. Personalised letters welcoming us to the hotel. Free wifi. The staff looked after some purchases we made till we returned 5 days later at no cost. The hotel is in the middle of the old city walls of Damascus. Should be rated 5 star!! Upgraded for free on our last night after completing our tour.
