We spent 5 days at Beit Mariam (one of the guesthouses they offer). Before we booked the place there we had read all the good reviews so we expected a lot and we were quite disappointed when we arrived there. The place is very basic- I would say it is a cheap hostel level. For the same price we could have a nice 3* or 4* hotel in Europe. But just after one day in Damascus we realized that all hotels there are very expensive and overpriced so what we paid was actually not that bad for Damascus.
I have started with negative comments but there are also a lot of good things to say about Beit Mariam and Voyages to Syria: the place was clean, in very good location and have really great hosts, who made us feel like home.
The biggest advantage of Voyages to Syria is Mohammed, who was helping us all the time, showed us the city, organized a car for our trips in Syria and Lebanon (in very good price) and guided us to the nicest restaurants with really great food. All in one- after first not so great impression we had a lot of fun and great time in Syria and Beit Mariam.
