Okay, so the Ezdan has some pretty awful reviews and I'm not going to argue that it doesn't deserve them all...but if you need a monthly rental in Doha and do not have a residency permit, this is the place to stay. If you don't fit those requirements, I'd look elsewhere.
The Ezdan is not a 4 star hotel - it's more like a poorly managed apartment complex that's dated and in need of a serious renovation. There is definitely a disconnect between front line staff and management, which can cause many frustrations. But the Ezdan has cheapest monthly rents in the West Bay, a great location and the executive studios are actually pretty nice (high ceilings, large windows). They have a pool, a gym, multiple restaurants of varying price ranges and a convenience store which is only slightly more expensive than the Carrefour at City Center.
So if you think you're getting a deal by staying here, you're not. You're getting what you pay for...and for us, the Ezdan is fine.
My advice for the Ezdan: bring your patience and ask to view multiple rooms before deciding on one (we looked at 6 rooms and currently love the studio we're in, even though our hallway is often filled with some questionable smells).
Get a studio with a view and bring an ethernet cable.
