“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

Having stayed at other Millenium Properties around the world, I was enthusiastic that our partners had selected this hotel for our stay. I must admit that with the exception of the excellent breakfast, the hotel and services provided were major disappointments. Very rude staff at all levels (from reception, to lobby to room service), not helpful with directions or getting taxi rides organized, overpriced laundry services and very little flexibility. Considering the very wide array of choices of accomodations in Doha, if you can avoid the hotel, do so.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 days for a meeting purpose. We also booked one of the conference room for two days. The hotel is very beautiful and is located inside the city. The only problem with this place is its very difficult to get a taxi around. The hotel will arrange private taxi service but bit expensive. Complimentary airport transfer was not there and I have to pay 70 QR for the same.
The room rates are from 600 QR. I got a Deluxe Room for 650 QR which was really very beautiful with all the amenities that you require. Even the day when I stayed there it was very cold and I just tried for a room heater. In 5 minutes it was delivered to my room.
Don't expect any bar service in this part of the world as it is not allowed.
Breakfast was really nice with a wide variety of choices available. But on the third day I could find the same menu once again with out any change.
Lunch was also very nice with a lot of choices available. Dinner they got a good some good menu options. But not that much variety is available.
Over all the hotel is a with all necessary Five Star facility with good and excellent staff.

Bruanch buffet starts at 12.30pm, priced at QAR 175 per adult, with children under 12 at half price, and kids under six are free. Very friendly, and nice tranquil atmosphere with harpist playing gentle music in the background. Too many items to list but bound to find several you relish. Start with freshly made customized suchi, then choose from a cold salad spread including smoked salmon, and great salads, choice of soups, extensive hot cooked dishes from traditional lamb and rice, to chicken, fish, and beef. Lamb chops are the tastiest around! Complementary hot vegetables including prime asparagus, and well prepared potato wedges. Lots of dessert choices, including a lovely recipe of Um Ali with almonds. Even have nachos and popcorn for the youngsters! Kids inder six area in a corner so that adults can have some peace and conversation. Service is very good. Discount given for Qatar Foundation employees but must prove QF employment with ID card or substantive evidence.

Room Tip: Did not stay at hotel but visited for meal only. Hotel has a nice ambience though, and valet parking...

I should have known from the start that this was not going to go well as the taxi driver at the airport did not know where this hotel was.

The room rate was QAR1,300/night apparently due to an international conference on climate change and obviously an opportunity for local hotels to rip off everyone traveling to Doha that week. Had I known I would have done two day trips from Dubai instead, it would have been cheaper, but my company travel agency did not inform me beforehand.

My king size bed was two singles
No breakfast included - for QAR1,300! I did negotiate a free breakfast in the lounge, which was at 0730 very untidy, no clean tables available, and not a great choice.
The room was small and the carpet badly stained
Free Wifi but with a signal that only worked well in the bathroom with my iPhone, I could not log on with my laptop.

On the plus side there was a kettle, free bottled water, and BBC World on the TV channels

No alcohol available either so it is a QAR30 taxi ride to the Radisson for a beer, and make sure you have your passport with you, as it is necessary to enter a bar here, not something I experienced before as I usually only do day trips to Doha.

Radisson next time for me.

The best thing about this hotel is it's location, other than that it really wasn't great. Their breakfast is very limited. The first morning I was there I wanted waffles, they weren't ready, the next morning, they were ready but they didn't have any syrup to go with it!! The concierege didn't speak very good English so explaining that I needed a car to the airport took a long time. The lobby and pool are nice, and the overall service was acceptable...but I probably won't stay there again..

Room Tip: I had a junior suit on the 6th floor and could hear everything going on in the room next door. My co...

This is a very nice hotel. The room was nice and the hotel was nice, if a little boring for an international hotel like this. The room was spacious with plenty of room and a nice desk for work. You should know it is alcohol free (dry) hotel. No bar, and no alcohol, not even root beer. I found the no root beer "I am sorry sir, we are a business hotel and do not serve alcohol" kind of funny. If you are looking for a hotel to party at and meet other expats, this is probably not the best place due to the location and lack of a bar. However, if you are looking for a calm hotel to stay at after a day of work, have a good meal and get some sleep, this is the place for you. I was particularly impressed with the staff in the ground floor restaurant. They were very nice, attentive, and took care of us during our 6 days there. I would definitely return to this hotel if I have business in the area again.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher room for some kind of a room. There is a Mosque on the Southeast side of the hotel...

The only thing that stands out for this hotel is the service of their staff. All of them were very attentive, responsive and they tried their best to resolve the problem of the customer. Right from the service staff to the people at the reception, people who were picking up my calls in the room service, all of them were good.

I have been staying in the same hotel last three times predominantly because of the exceptional service of their staff.

But I would like to specially thank Ramia El Mnahbi whom I was in touch with right from the booking and she was brilliant. From booking my room to arranging transportation absolutely on time to making sure that my baggage was taken care of, that the amenities in the room were available, her responsiveness was exceptional. She was outstanding.
