“Nice Hotel In Budget Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2012

I stayed in Merweb Al-sadd 02 times in 2011 , 1st for 04 days and 2nd time for 15 days. The hotel is nicely located in central Doha nearing all kind of restaurants , shops and convenient for finding local transport (though main public transport available in Doha is TAXI only).
Rooms are not very large but well furnished to the needs of all kind of guests. Bathroom amenities are provided , bath tub is very limited though.
Service is prompt and all personals are very keen to help guests.
The only concern i have about there in house Restaurant in which only Arabic food is on main menu, very difficult for a person who is living there for 15 days eating Arabic cuisine. As there are number of Asians i have seen they must consider catering according to multiple taste cuisine.
01 drawback is no swimming pool or spa is given there.
Overall a pleasant stay...

Room Tip: If you want a swimming pool, spa or a bar in a hotel better not to consider this hotel as nothing is...

i stayed 2 days in this hotel for business purposes. it is around a 25 minute drive from the airport. it could be less from the corniche road which has less number of traffic signals. it is at a central location and close to almost everywhere. doha is a small city anyway.

the best thing about the hotel is the staff. they are all kind and smiling persons and they do their best to attend and help the guests. the check in is easy. they have 2 elevators at the lobby and they were just enough or the hotel was not fully occupied maybe, not sure. breakfast was included in my reservation. it was not the best breakfast ever, but it was ok. i think they might consider including some more stuff or variations to the buffet. i had dinner also at the hotel. and my comments for the breakfast are good for the dinner too. although the food is tasty, some more choices could be better.

the thing about the dining hall is the furniture. the chairs are so heavy that you cannot lift but you have to drag them and this makes some considerable noise, especially when there are lots of people dining. i think this type of furniture was popular a long time ago, they just look boring and are not really practical.

my room was at third floor and my view from the room was nothing but a wall. the adjacent building was only few meters from the hotel and it didnot have any windows facing the hotel. so the view from the hotel was nothing but a wall. the room was smelly. it smells damp. there was a minibar in the room, with nothing inside. the tv was ok. internet was free, which is really important for me. after having experienced lots of 5 - star hotels charging an arm and a leg for internet, i was really glad that merweb provides it for free.

so i can advice the travellers to consider merweb as a place they can safely stay in Doha. it is a central location with really nice staff. i think there must be another option between average and very good when you rate the hotel here on tripadvisor. because this hotel is better than average but less than very good.

on the other hand, i advice the hotel to work on improvements. minor improvements can make major differences. they have the potential to become a very good hotel or they might want to continue as an average hotel.

Not sure why so many travelers have had bad luck at this hotel. We booked our flight thru Qatar Airlines. We arrived at the hotel and the room was clean and nice. Ate at buffet lunch (only surprise was that the price was doubled because it was a Weekend). Food was delicious. If we had been their earlier in the day, could have gotten pizza and pasta cooked to order. Good selection of Middle East and Western food. Ate breakfast next day at buffet; they let us eat what was already out out because we had to be at airport at 5:30 but buffet didn't open til 6. Again, decent selection of foods.
staff was always kind and helpful.

It was a new experience to stay at Merweb hotel, Doha. There was no crowd and the rooms and common facilities had more than enough space to accomodate more. There are lot of nearby places to walk around however I did not enjoy the evening walk. The lousy elevator and cigaret smell in the room were not good. But you may not be unlucky.

Room Tip: No idea on how to get a room without cigrete smell

Just stayed there a two nights during a business trip. It's, in fact, a 4* Hotel, great for a short stay. The staff is really polite and will help you right way. The break-fast is great and there is plenty to choose from. It can't be missed. I never ate Lunch or Dinner there but I would definitely give it a try. They also have a restaurant there pretty nice, loved the decoration.
The minor thing to report was that the card key holder to open the lights, was a little loose and the fuses went out once on both days. First day, I called maintenance an the second one I did it myself, because was an easy fix.
However the room was great, really clean. They offer what the most part 4* hotels have to give. Also you can count with daily Gulf Times Journal in the morning outside your room door hanging on the door lock.
Overall a good stay, short but really welcoming...
I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends.

Room Tip: Probably the lower rooms will be less hot during day light, than the top ones. I stayed on 3rd floor...

The Merweb Al Sadd is absolutely fine if you are in Doha for a quick business trip. My room was clean and the bed/pillows very comfortable. The bathroom is adequate - shower over the bath which is not my favourite but it was manageable. The wifi was free and there was a good signal. All in all, perfectly fine for a business trip for a couple of days but not a hotel that I would want to bring my family to or stay in for any length of time. Room service was decent.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the main street otherwise your window will face the wall of the adjoin...
