Great hotel. Great location. Right in the middle of the souq. Lots of restaurants and things to see near by. Walking distance is the corniche. If you can take the heat then the Islamic museum isn't too far either.

Apart from the airport taxi taking me to the wrong hotel (Mercure) this is a lovely hotel that no one seems to know about!
Reception, and check out, were brilliant and efficient!
Concierge service very good, Especially as there're are no services to the front door!
Spotlessly clean throughout. Without seeing intrusive cleaners!
Rooms were great! Nice clean and again spotless. Comfortable beds with soft pillows.
Wifi was excellent and free of charge. Look at that UK hotels!!!!!!!!
The hotel is situated at one of the corners of the Gold Souk! Fabulous for wandering about and window shopping! And any choice of food you want! Except pork of course!
The bathroom was a little small but perfectly adequate with a good selection of toiletries.
The Al Terrace restaurant in the hotel was very good, but for dinner had only Lebanese / Arabian food. The breakfast was excellent. Particular thanks to Anas who was the most friendly and caring waiter I have ever come across!
A word of warning! With tiled floors and AC on it can feel cold to get out of bed! Bring slippers, as none are provided! Think about it hotel management !!!!!!!

The hotel is in a great location, right on the doorstep of the souk. The taxi driver from the hotel did struggle to find it to begin with, after we got out bearings the couple of trips we asked the taxi driver to drop us at the falcon souk which was about 5 min walk away from the hotel and also allowed the opportunity to pick up a bottle of water and do some more shopping on the way back.

There are musicians playing outside and on the nights we stayed they finished playing about 11pm - we had read previous posts describing this so we were conscious and ate out slightly later to avoid it. There is also building work going on opposite too and they started work at 6am, which did wake us up but we had a room at the front of the hotel so maybe this may not be so much a problem at the other side of the building.

The pool on the second floor is a welcome relief from the heat, we didn't have a problem getting a sun lounger but a number of people did towards the middle of the day.

Breakfast was more than adequate.

The staff on reception were very welcoming and we were invited on a dhow cruise which we thoroughly enjoyed and was a very good surprise.

Overall the hotel is in a great location, an ideal choice for a stop over. The decor is modern and definitely has the boutique feel. The noise was a slight issue but we were out most of the evening so didn't let it affect the trip.

A small boutique hotel right in the middle of the Souq Waqif. Very conveniently located to explore the souq and close to the airport wich made it an ideal choice for a stop over in Doha ..
Its also only 10 minutes from the hotel on foot to the Museum of Islamic Art.
The staff was very helpful and friendly.
The rooms are a nice mix of modern amenities and arabian styles.
The big issue we had with this hotel is that at the moment they have a construction site in front of the hotel ( April 2014) wich makes it very very noisy..

Room Tip: Find a room that is away from the construction sites in front of the hotel

Delightful place to stay in Doha, both for the hotel itself and for the fact that it is located in the Souq Waqif. The souk is a recently renovated and expanded pedestrian area full of restaurants and shops, including the working real-life souk. Unlike some other parts of the city, the souk is perfect for evening relaxation and being outside. The hotel itself has only three floors of rooms, a small pool, and a small breakfast buffet. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive. (I had some document shipments to arrange and they did all they could to help.) For all my future visits to Doha, I will choose the Al Mirqab -- or one of the other related boutique hotels in the Souk Waqif: far better than the big typical business hotels.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during a business trip. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room/bed was very comfortable. The only issue was the noise from the souq, which could be heard till late at night. I would suggest requesting a room that isn't on the front of the hotel. Saying that, the view across the rooftops of the souq was great! The breakfast buffet is delicious, but the choice is somewhat limited, and quite expensive (QR100).

Room Tip: Rooms on the front of the hotel are exposed to noise from the souq (musicians, performers etc.) unti...

I have stayed in other Souq Waqif Bountique Hotels before, so finding this particular one was easy. if you enjoy Libanese food, the chef in the Al Mirqab is fantastic. Yes, there are evenings when there is live music playing but I actually enjoyed it as a bit different from the normal set of top 20 hits playing everywhere else in the world. I greatly enjoyed the pool and thought it is one of the best parts of this particular Souq Waqif hotel. The staff is going out of their way to be accommodating and no special request too complicated. That is why I think they deserve five stars.
