“Modern and clean in Doha”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

The Katara Cultural village is a collection of nice restaurants, boutique shops, and a beautiful marble colosseum. There is nice walking along the sea front and a few places to sit and watch the world go by. The Music Academy and the Opera Theatre are situated here too. The beaches are pristine but restricted for use by the Qataris, or for residents at the hotels. The Pearl shopping plaza is close by.

“Katara...satisfies all senses”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

Katara is a place that you won't discover all from the first time, there are a lot of activities to discover. From Art galleries, to musical concerts and from cheap Chapati and Karak for 5-10 riyal to lavish seafood, beautiful beach and traditional Arabic boats. What i love about Katara is it is full of surprises, every time. However the only minus is the traffic jams on its main street without it it would be perfect.

“Not what I expected.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

Vast and too big. No shade. Definitely use the free buggies to get around. We found this place too open and sterile, far to big. It's all very nice and like everything in Doha, no expense spared, just lacking atmosphere. Would rather spend day after day wandering the Souk than wandering here. Guess it would be good for families wanting to take kids to the beach, but Mum, no bikinis here.
