“delicious food and friendly environment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

one of the best italian restaurants in Doha. the location is perfect for a quiet dinner.he food is delicious and what is really amazing is that they have daily offers. italians speakers will be delighted, since they can talk with the personnel in italian and foreigners will be more than happy to gain more knowledge in italian cuisine. i highly recommend this place and i must admit that whenever i have free time i don't hesitate to go and eat there, since it is my favourite italian restaurant in Doha.

“Hidden Gem in Souk Waquif”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

We have browsed th Souk several times but this was the First time we have visited this eatery as it is tucked away down a side street. It is relatively small but this adds to its charm.
We were delighted with its ambience. It is a traditional Italian restuarant (even the waitress was from Italy!)
It serves Italian cuisine with a bias to fish (readily available in Doha of course)
It enjoys a very nice outside seating area also for those evenings when the heat is not oppressive in a charming courtyard.

We will definatley be visitng again

“Disappointing...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

I had high hopes for this restaurant after reading all the fantastic reviews on tripadvisor, but sadly it was a disappointing experience.

the best part of our meal was the wonderful welcome we received from a lovely Italian lady (I think she is the owner). She was warm and welcoming, so friendly and so helpful! the setting is also lovely - we sat outside in a charming little courtyard away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets of Souq Waqif! It's a great setting for a date.

Unfortunately the meals were not up to scratch. I had the daily special of spaghetti and Jumbo Prawns. The portions were generous and there were two GIANT prawns on my pasta. There was certainly enough pasta for two to share. However, the taste was only average and it was much too salty. My friend has another daily special - grilled shark??? which she shared with me. It was also, only OK. The tiramisu however, was quite good, and I enjoyed my dessert. It's not the best tiramisu I've had but it was definitely a real tiramisu (minus the alcohol). I would recommend that they use more layers for the tiramisu - currently there is only one thin layer of savoiardi biscuits at the bottom, and alot of mascarpone. It would work better to have 4 layers and distribute the mascarpone between the layers (savoiardi+mascarpone+savoiardi+mascarpone) so you dont get a huge mouthful of cream in every bite.

I cannot fault the service, which was impeccable. I might even give La Dolce Vita another try because of our fabulous Italian host!!!

Dear Mrs.Bernadine

We were sad to hear that we were not up to your expectation and that the meals were not
up to scratch? happens sometimes that it is too salty .Next time you come ,kindly, let us
know we will alert our chef so as to be very careful as some guests doesn't like any salt
in there meals.
As far as the tiramisu this is the way we should prepare it as the savoiard are dipped in
coffee and should be put down on the bottom and side ways as not to affect the mascarpone,

Thank you for giving us another try as we will try to do our best to satisfy you.

Regards
Alain

“Best Italian Rest. in Doha”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

The food is excellent. And the service is outstanding.

I had a great time there and the meal was perfect. Great value for money. Would recommend it for everyone as it has great vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The menu is very diverse and suits all tastes really. I went there many times with different friends and I can testify that everyone was very pleased.

“We really like it!!! It's very good.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013 via mobile

We went on a Friday afternoon. Had some trouble finding it, but asked a couple of people and they helped me get there. The weather was beautiful and we sat outside. Their chefs' specials are very well presented on a small blackboard with a trip pod. Their starters are excellent, we had a pumpkin flan and my GF got the vegetable soup. Both were excellent. For main course, we had Penne Arabiata and lasagnia. They were cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. To our surprise, the owner asked us to try their ice cream. They make nice Gelato in house. Overall, we had a great experience. One thing that is somehow bothering is the Iraqi restaurant asjacent to them, with their music and Shisha they kill the experience. But it's no big deal.

Dear Carlittosk,

We thank you for the excellent review , yes you are right we try to keep
our neighbour (iraqi) restaurant in good relation as we can't do anything
about it sometimes we ask them to lower there music as it disturbs most
of our clients but we are located in the Souq therefore we have to adapt
ourselfs .We apologize on there behalf and hope to see you soon
