A group of us were walking through the souq at the start of the year, trying to decide where to eat. We weren't sure what to expect from an Iraqi restaurant, but we figured we'd try it out. I'm so glad we did! The staff were so lovely - from explaining every single dish on the menu for us, to giving us advice about living in Doha (we had just moved out) and generally chatting to us.
Once we had devoured the mountain of delicious bread, houmous, fattoush, labneh and moutabel, they brought out even more. We were all full before our main course arrived! They also brought us complimentary mint coolers. The main courses were very tasty and very large. Nobody managed to clear their plates, though we wanted to. We decided to sit and talk for a while because we were so full we couldn't move. The staff decided we couldn't leave without trying their desserts so they brought out a custard-based dessert for each of us and a huge plate of doughnut-type things with caramel syrup. None of us thought we could eat another bite, but they tasted so good we couldn't stop! I think we ate enough to last us the week.
We've all been back several times since and never had anything negative to say about it.
