“Nice Budget Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013

Very good location 8 minutes walk to Souk Wakef & 10 minutes by car to the airport.
Very simple & old furnished room.
Free wifi inside the room is very bad but at the Lobby is very good.
There is a small fridge in the room & safe box but no more.
They have nice breakfast including the room rate.
Clean & safe & rate was suitable for budget 2 or 3 stars hotel.

We had a 3 day,3 night stay. Overall a good experience, responded to our email asking for a booking and gave us confirmed booking promptly. Front desk staff were helpful. We asked for an adaptor and we got it. Room was fine, clean towels and sheets. Breakfast is continental, nothing great but filling. We were traveling by car from Dammam. We had trouble finding parking as the hotel is located in a narrow lane. We did get parking each night but only after scrambling a bit.Try to park away from the place and walk back to the hotel. Because the streets are narrow, difficult reversing the car and we got a flat tire parking in an alley. So try to park away and walk up. We preferred Indian food and to our pleasant surprise,we discovered Saravana Bhavan just 5 minutes from the hotel. So it was very convenient for us and our children. We packed lunch from there each day of sightseeing. The hotel's location is good-close to Souk Wakif and pier. So you can go shopping or have a shisha dinner in the restaurants in souq area! All just by walking from the hotel. Only disadvantage is that the hotel is located in a narrow, crowded alley. Some people may not like that. Hospitality good, overall thumbs up-good deal for budget traveller.

Room Tip: Choose a room higher up for good view and less noise.

I stayed here for one night in January 2013 with a group of friends. Granted, we were looking for the cheapest place we could find, and that's what we got. First of all, don't confuse this place with the associated hotel with a similar name--I think it is the La Villa Palace? Our directions led us to the other place first, where the staff informed us that we were at the wrong hotel. This hotel is located in a very sketchy location next to a slum. We're talking the closest thing I have ever seen to third world living conditions--people crammed into concrete block squares with random belongings and diseased-looking cats scattered all around. To be honest, we were nervous about leaving our car parked in this location. The view from our room on the fifth floor looked down on...the slum. The rooms themselves were functional but again, not high quality at all. The bathroom had a scary prison-feel to it, and there were random hairs in the bed. Gross. One of my single female friends traveling with us asked to be moved to a room on the same floor as the rest of us, because she did not feel safe in the room she was given. I was kept up for several hours by a clanging sound from outside; not sure what it was, but it freaked me out.The upside is that the place did in fact offer breakfast, which was edible but not great. Stay here if you REALLY need to save on money, but otherwise, skip it.

I do not have enough words to describe the wonderful hospitality this hotel offers. Starting with a booking just made over email and no deposit asked for except for a confirmation 2 days before arrival. We then paid them in cash. Welcome drink upon arrival. We had a suite, and they happily obliged to add an extra bed as well. Rooms were clean and roomy as well. Beds were very comfortable. We needed an extra pillow and duvet and they provided that as well.
Breakfast served was a wide array of cheese, fruit, eggs, breads, some arabic dishes, some indian, some continental, cold cuts of meat, some dessert as well! along with the fruit juices, cereals, coffees and teas..
We even ordered room service at times, reasonably priced food and delicious as well :-)
The staff were honest and room cleaning was done everyday regularly.
The front office and reception staff were very friendly and helpful as well =)
The best part was when they allowed us to check out late on the last day at no extra charge, as we had stayed for 5 nights :-) so that was the icing on this beautiful cake =)
The neighbourhood of the hotel is ok, it is near the famous souq waqif and near the beautiful mosque al fanar.. walking distance from shopping centres.. it is quite centrally placed actually =)
All in all, this hotel surely deserves to be rated at least as a 4 star hotel rather than a 2 star hotel.

The price is right; the hotel is "just ok".

My room DID NOT look like the glamorous room pictures on Trip Advisor. The room was very basic: tile floor, two narrow beds. Good strong aircon.

Bed was hard as a rock – like those you find in China. (some people like that, others don't)

Internet connection was fine. The hotel entrance is on a narrow side street. My taxi driver found it immediately but my local colleague picking me up took some time to find the hotel. Taxi from hotel to airport was 30 QR.

The buffet breakfast was included. Basic breakfast almost identical to the other similar hotels I've stayed in Doha.

Quiet at night.

I booked this hotel during my Doha visit. the cab picked me up from DOH to this location overcharge me QR 50
i got a room on the first floor good size but filthy
the matress was so thin, it was brutale to sleep on, i asked for 5 more covers to lay on.
the linnen were worn out.
if you are planning one night on a budget then ok. but longer stay. dont even think about this hotel.
the shower is so small if you drop your shower gel, you have to step out the shower and pick up
the breakfast was including, not bad choice for one night stay.
location is great when you step on the major road, but nearby housing accomodation to see so many poor people on top of each other. its sad and for such a developping little tiny country it super sad.
when i looked at my window and notice the accross the street of me, is a family of 18 in one room my heart felt went to the them, and i stop complaining.

Room Tip: No Pool or fitness room

Nothing special, but for one night budget stopover is ok. Avoid extra bed - it is just thin matress on the floor, so it could be not comfortable for many people. Food - less than average, but you can find standard european set - toast and jam, so you cannot went hungry.
