If market means selling fish off the floor then this is the place. Modern items such as hygenic marble slabs that can be washed down are not always favoured by the fishermen who cannot afford such expenses, therfore their catch is placed on the floor and sold from there. Photgraphically it harks back to earlier days, and in some suburbs it still happens this way, on the pavements of Al Khuwair, and the footpaths leading to the Crowne Plaza at the creek. Not he healthiest of situations but at least you have to prepare and cook them anyway. I believe a new fish market is being built, here's hoping the costs to rent a slab will be within the compass of the local fishermen.
